Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Many will not like what I am going to say but the truth is that these elections were by far cleanest elections in the history of punjab and we have to accept that people voted for badal because of Development. You and I may not like this idea but people of punjab don't care for panthic issues. Gone are the days when punjabis considered panthic issues as their priority. The only party Akali dal ( Mann) which fought on panthic issues couldn't even open their account so as Manpreet Badal's - People's Party.

People of punjab are going away from Gurmat values, everyone wants good roads, transport, businesses , malls and all. Sukhbir Badal's slogan was to make punjab California and it worked. It clearly shows there is no interest in Panthic issues.

We can say that votes were bought or drugs/alcohal was distributed ( may be its true for 1-2% of people) but that doesn't translates in to winning votes ( trust me on this) . I personally know Amritdhari Sikhs who says *We should not mix Sikhism and Politics* and many say *We should move on and forget past* . The environment is totally different in punjab, we'll fool ourselves if we think that average man didn't voted for Badal's thats not true at all.

I would call Badal a tool, but that would be an insult to the word itself.
Tools are supposed to be useful.....confused smiley

In the UK the slang for tool is 'used in place of dumb, ignorant, or incapable (of anything)' smileys with beer. So fits!

Bhai Ramanpreet Singh ji,

Majority of the people in Punjab are not Gurmat oriented, thus they only care about which politician is politically smart. Considering what has happened to the Sikhs in the 80s and the image that has been created by the clever about the Jujharoo Singhs, no one really wants to talk about the Sikh rights in India, maybe fearing it would be the 80s again. Majority of the population in Punjab are either Hindus or no religion(the monay). Sikhs make up only a small number.

so what if badal made a couple of bridges and roads, punjab still has a long way to go.

Just think about how much he and his familiy made from this, there is so much corruption in punjab. All you have to do is give someone a little bit of money and they will do whatever you want. Even though there are new roads etc in india, Badal must of made a fortune from all the corruption.

Have you ever seen a pind in india? almost on every corner there is an alcohol shop. Punjab has the highest consumption of alcohol in india.

I bet many ppl on this forum would agree with me. That once you leave punjab and travel to a place such as Hemkunt sahib and you go outside of punjab the number alchohol shops you see decreases dramatically....why is this? (its obvious the indian government wants the people in punjab to become drug addicts and alcoholics so that nvr wake up and release about their true origins and want sikhi is all about because they know if the sikhs wake up there in big trouble.)

To be fair to people of Punjab, what choice did they have? Was voting for Congress better? Just have a look at their candidates. They all look Sharaabi and Badmash. Manpreet had a good agenda but he has been hypocritical. First he took Amrit and then started trimming his beard. This is bad enough but then he argued that we should not mix religion and politics but then he sided with the communist parties and had Havans done for his success. Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann would have been good but he did not campaign much.

If you look at other alternatives, you would realize that Punjabis had two choices - either not vote at all, or vote for Akali Dal Badal. Someone rightfully mentioned that these elections were probably fairer than the past elections and the use of alcohol and money for buying votes has been negligible.

This is also not true that Badal ignored the Panthik agenda in these elections. From his side, he tried his best to keep as many Sikh organizations on his side as possible and this is where Bhai Dhumma's Sant Samaj came in handy. And then he opened the Khalsa memorial at Siri Anandpur Sahib and other memorials around this time. All this was to garner the Sikh votes.

I am not a fan of Badal party nor support them, but they are better than Congress. Having said that, if I had voting rights in Punjab, I would have abstained from voting.

Following words I have posted on a friends profile.

"Divided opposition have always been helpful to the "Panthic Party". PPP divided it and helped SAD-BJP combine for success. Manpreet Singh does not portray a Panthic image by his appearance and does not deserve vote from a traditional section of the Akali vote bank. SAD (Amritsar) talks about things people do not understand even. Days of sikh ideology are left far behind in Punjab. Money and power occupies young minds.---------------Congress, SAD, BJP, PPP and Maan Sahib get 40.11, 34.75, 7.13, 5.17, 0.28 % of Punjab vote, respectively. This should help to understand Punjab situation. In 2007, Congress and SAD got 38.81 and 37.09 percent respectively. So clearly, SAD has decreased its vote share by 2.34% and Congress has increased it by 1.30% as compared to 2007. Though SAD has decreased its popularity in Punjabi minds, but "system of election" in democracy makes them win.-------------------No need to get discouraged about Panthic Ideology. Right persons rarely succeed in Democracy. We know text book knowledge of democracy. 51 donkeys rule 49 horses.----------------------A writer in Punjab has written, about 100 years ago, that a day will come when people will say, " Down with Democracy" as they earlier said, " Down with kingship".

I feel the above posts are very lenient especially from k.sehaj . Badal hasn't done anything wrong this time round??. But what about the past 30 years plus??.

Let's get some facts right on this Manmukh

1. Declared Tankaaheyaa by Sree Akaal Takht Sahib in 1995. SO HE'S NOT EVEN PART OF THE KHALSA PANTH OR A SIKH.

2. Has "MAATH TEKH" to almost every Baba, Panthic Dushts. "Wined & Dined with murderers, rapist of Gursikhs without a second thought. He sold his mind, body and soul to corruption decades ago. What will his state be in Dargah..... Black

3. PERSONALLY Drove Narakdhari Gurbachana before 1978 Massacre of Gursikhs to Amritsar Sahib.

4. He was Minister in 78 and LET THE NARAKDHARIS do there procession on purpose

5. Let Gurbachana off without any charges for murderer of 78 Singhs.

6. Known to send Thugs to beat Singhs if anyone speaks out against his wrong doings.

The list is endless with his corruption and paap.

Both parties are thorns to Sikhs

Agree with Bodh and NS44 Ji - Badal is a DAINT.

Written By Bhai Jasjit Singh Ji on an earlier post.

Daas is wondering what is the motive of some one to hide Badal's Karnamay from same site;

](Left) Badal praying to a Hindu Devi, (Right) Surinder Badal praying at Aushutosh Noormehalia's feet

Chandigarph, Punjab (KP) - The former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Prof. Darshan Singh, lashed out at Parkash Badal's family and accusing them for being guilty of serious violations of the Sikh Rehat Maryada. Parkash Badal's wife recently admitted to the press that she worships anti-Panthic personality Aushutosh Noormehlia, and seeks his blessings routinely. Badal, himself, recently visited a Hindu Mandir where he prayed to Kali Devi for her blessings.

Simranjit Singh Mann Visits Durga Mandir

On a similar note, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president, Simranjit Singh Mann, who also visited a Hindu Durga Mandir in Longowal this week, was criticized for doing the same. Several newspapers have reported that Mann had prayed to idols of Durga, Santoshi Mata, Kali, Hanuman, and a shivling, but Simranjit Singh Mann has denied the accusations, stating he had merely visited the temple but not prayed in it. The newpapers also reported that a confrontation took place inside the mandir between photographers and SAD(A) party workers, who did not want the event publicized.

Badal Family Actions Harming Sikh Youth

Prof. Darshan Singh, who, criticized the Badals for misusing the Akali Dal name and promoting it as a 'Sikh' party while continuing to perform anti-Sikh actions, went as far as to say that the Badal family and their party were one of the major causes of apostasy amonst the Sikh Youth.

Prof. Darshan Singh appealed to the Sikh community to vote out these individuals who were harming the Sikh saroops (appearance) and religion. He added 'It is quiet clear that these people have never read the Gurbani or the rehat maryada. It is very clearly stated that a Sikh should not wander around for solace and assurance, and that he should have full faith in the Guru. But then it seems that Surinder Kaur Badal does not know this. She is going around seeking blessings of all these gurus whom she claims are equivalent, for her, to Guru Granth Sahib. Other Akali leaders like Sikander Singh Maluka performed Hawan to inaugurate his party office. All this sends a wrong message to the Sikh youth.'

Like Parkash Badal himself, SAD party worker Surinder Maluka had performed a Hawan recently along with his BJP compatriots at an inauguration of a party office.

Several Sikh organizations have requested the Badal installed Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti to summon Maluka and Surinder Badal, to no avail.

7) THE BADALS : EMPIRE OF TREACHERY & CORRUPTION
PANTHIC WEEKLY EDITORS
[panthic.org]

Chandigarh, Punjab - Facing an uphill battle in the upcoming elections, and a possibility of a corruption trial, Akali Dal Badal, is vying for votes in a most desperate manner.

When Amarinder Singh held a hugh rally in Badal’s home town last week, Badal countered by setting up an “entertainment” stage a few kilometers away, complete with scantly clad dancing girls and vulgar music. Alcohol, cash, and flesh flow freely, all in the name of “Akali Dal’.

No longer a Panthic Party

The Akali Dal that once launched a morcha in support of implementing the “Anandpur Sahib Resolution” and the watered-down “Amritsar Elan-nama”, is now even apologizing to their Hindu masters for their past “disrespect” of the Indian constitution.

In mid 1980s, the Shiromani Akal Dal demanded the withdrawal of Article 25 of the Indian Constitution which blended the Sikhs as Hindus. In 1983 the Akali leaders burnt copied of Article 25 in front of Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, close to the Parliament House, to demonstrate their disapproval of the Article.

Badal is now apologizing for his actions from the 1980s and states that he did it out of pressure from his party. This is in line with his previous statements where he has apologized for joining the ‘Dharm Yudh Morcha’ which eventually led to the Khalistan movement of the mid 1980s and ‘90s. He is completely silent on the welfare of hundereds of Sikh political prisoners that are languishing in India's jails - many of then were detained since the mid 1980s.

It is clear that Shiromani Akal Dal (Badal), no longer represents the voice or the aspirations of the Sikh nation. It is currently being controlled entirely by ‘godfather’ Parkash Badal solely for his family’s self interest. Badal is alleged to have amassed hundreds of millions in wealth and property during his stints as chief minister of Punjab. The corruption case on this disproportionate amass of assets could go on trial as early as 2007.

Badal Family Center Stage

A recent political rally held by the Akali Dal, on the aging Badal’s birthday, Badal was projected was a rare son of Punjab. Songs by professional musicians and Dhadis praised the father and son Badal as if they were our great Sikh Gurus or our Shaheeds. One of songs stated that “Birth of great man such as Badal is a rare act of God” and another one gloats that “Following Guru Sahib’s great command of ‘Jabai Bann Lagio, Tabai Roass Jagio’ Sukhbir Badal has sacrificed his luxuries to awaken the youth, he is the new rising sun, and twinkling star of Punjab.”

The songs failed to mention the mountains of treachery and corruption that the Badal Empire is built upon.

Panthic organizations have not forgotten his connections to the RSS, Nakli-Nirankaris, Aushutosh Noormehlia, and his dubious role during the Vaisakhi 1978 Massacre, the June 1984 on Sri Darbar Sahib, and his constant meddling in the affairs of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
