ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹਿ ,
ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਜੀ ||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਮਨਹੁ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ਜੀ ||੧||
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਗੁਰਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਬਖਸ਼ੋ ਜੀ ,ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ (ਬਿਰਥੀ)ਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਜੀ |ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਲਾਲ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੀ |

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹਿ

In this world you can do either Seva of Vaheguru or Seva of Maya. Most of the world is indulged in serving Maya and the boundaries of Maya are so wide and large that they include even the most religious and pious deeds. The only thing that is beyond Maya is indulging in the Service of Vaheguru through the true Naam and singing praises of Vaheguru through Gurbani.

The service of Vaheguru starts with meeting the true Guru and then getting initiated (Amrit Chhakna) by Guru Sahib. Then following the teachings of Guru including chanting Naam, constitutes the service of Vaheguru.

Let's think of Har kee Seva. How can we serve Vaheguru who is Agam (unreachable), unseen, and above all is totally self-sufficient and for this reason He requires no service from us? So Har kee Seva cannot mean any worldly efforts but it only means chanting the true Naam and singing Gurbani.
