It’s great seeing Rehitvaan Gursikh children being presented in the media. What's great about this representation in particular is that these Gursikh children badminton players played in the tournaments in Gurmukhi Bana and have brought respect and honour to the Khaalsaa Panth.
Nihaal Singh of Toronto became the First Champion in the Badminton open Tournament on 12th Febuary 2011 and came first again this past weekend on 26th March 2011.
It brings great pleasure seeing Nihaal Singh in Gurmukhi Bana and becoming First Champion in both games.

Fernando's students excel
Brampton shuttlers excelled in the 47th Annual Don Rogerson Open Novice Badminton Tournament held at John Fraser Secondary School in Mississauga recently.
Representing 25 different schools and clubs, more than 100 players across Ontario participated in the tournament and exhibited a high quality display of badminton.
Mississauga’s Erindale Junior Badminton Club organized the tournament.
The organizers described the two-day championships as a great success and thanked the volunteers for dedicating their precious time.
From Brampton’s Fernando Badminton Coaching Academy, some 10 young players also competed and excelled in their respective categories.
Two budding players— Nihal Singh Gill (boys Under 14) and Sayantan Halder (Under 16)— of the Fernando Club walked out champions, while the third, Nageema Singh Gill (Under-12) finished as a runner-up.
“This is a huge achievement by our students and a great boost for our academy,” said Dave Fernando, head coach of the Fernando Academy.
“Credit goes to the players’ hard work, our deputy head coach, technical coach and all other instructors who contributed towards the training of our players.
“It’s a winning recipe of our program that shows we are on the right track,” Fernando added.[
