Publishing pothis in pad-ched is wrong. According to Sant Kartar Singh Ji, it's mahaa-manmat and should not happen. Gursikhs should be willing to listen to requests of sangat and who knows maybe he may start publishing larridaar pothis/sanchees.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Short form of Chandi Di Vaar is Ardas that we should do after doing nitnem and reading other banis. Perhaps the rehitnama is referring to ardas? I my opinion all the words in original form are correct. They are normal words of the Punjabi language and don't require any further pad-ched. ਮੈਥੋ - from me ਕੈਬਰੀ - arrow ਰੈਬਾਰੇ - guide, according to Mahan Kosby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Someone should praise efforts of Bhai Sahib and request him to publish poothis in proper larridaar format. We are quick to point out mistakes of others but it is only through recognizing someone's efforts that we can request them to correct their 'mistakes'.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I once heard from a Gurmukh that Guru Nanak Sahib Ji carried a barsha and it is still present today and kept in a Gurdwara Sahib close to Tibet some where. Can someone confirm this?by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Are there any gurmat related poems on anand karaj that can be printed on a wedding card? Most preferably by Gursikhs such as Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji or Dr. Bhai Veer Singh Ji but there are quiet a few good poets on this website as well. I'll really appreciate if someone can help find a kavita. Thanksby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Please check charitar# 335, you will find a story very similar to the one mentioned above. I couldn't find the exact wording posted above anywhere. It had to be from Sri Charitropakhyaan though so it must be 335. KookerheeraSingh must have gotten the panktee from DamdamiTaksal.org -by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
What if your kesh breaks mistakenly by getting stuck in the bathroom door after you have just washed it?by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I have heard this panktee before but I was not able to find it in online anywhere.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Do you guys think he would have to pesh for this? This was not intended. I know after operations you need to pesh if kesh is removed however that is intentional. You chose to get operation done and it required removal of kesh on in this case, this person wasn't even aware of what is happening.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Can someone shed some light on "sailee toope" (ਸੇਲੀ ਟੋਪੀ)?by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
"Bhee" (and) in Satgur Kay Bhaainay "Bhee" Chaleh sounds like it's an alternate. Can someone explain the meaning of bhee.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
In addition to chunneaa, Gursikhs also cover their dastar with looee/shawl. The hukamnama could be referring to those who shun dastars and wear toopee instead.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thank you very much to all the Gursikhs who cared to respond to my query. Hopefully I can arrange for some khaddar kapra for dastar. Another question - at home we don't mix bhog langar with rest of the food. This is primarily because we don't want to go against Sri Akal Takht Sahib's langar hukamnaama. I personally think it would be a blessing if all family members got to eat Guru Sahib's lby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks for the response Bhai Sahib. Do you find yourself doing keshi ishnaan sometimes twice in a day? I can imagine that sometimes even 2-3 times every day. I don't think this is good for your hair as you will lose the naturally occurring oils which will cause damage to it. I thought that maybe since one is to do keshi ishnaan once in the morning, even if you got toilet #2 (or sleep), juby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I was wondering if it's mandatory to do keshi ishnaan to do Guru Sahib's seva (sehajpath/parkash/sukhasan) if you have been to the toilet for #2? Is it okay if you just do pinda ishnaan before doing Guru Sahib's seva given you've already done keshi ishnaan in the morning? Is it also absolutely mandatory to do nitnem with Guru Sahib if you have parkash at home? Does one person in the family Hby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum

gsingh, can you please share link to the interview? I don't really listen to Giani Thakur Singh ji's katha but I would like to hear what context he said that in. Did he mention anything about raensbaaes? Following the sakhi you shared, once parkash is done, no one should go to sleep.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is a rehitnama that relates to the saakhi shared by JaskiratSingh - "kangha doono vakt kar paag chunnay kar bandhaaee" I don't ever remember re-doing kesh with shoes on but for some reason it seems very logical to remove shoes before doing kangha. Side topic, regarding the rehitnama I shared above - doono vakt probably refers to morning and evening time (sodar) however if you are at wby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Personally I don't think it's necessary to do re-parkash of Guru Sahib's saroop since Satguru ji is 'sad-jagda' however I think it's important the veshaaee be changed after raensbaae. What do others think about this? Re-doing veshaaee would obviously require sukhasan to be done. Also, is it okay to keep the same pushaak (rumalla) for a few days? Usually how often are Guru Sahib's bastar chaby Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Sorry - a bit off topic, considering so much torture that cows go through, do you think it would be okay to soy milk? This would be against panth parvanit maryada however those Singhs who do not consume milk because of bibek AND/OR animal rights issue, would probably be okay to use soy milk instead. Are the panktees from Rehat Pargash referring to a historical incident? From the wording it seems like they may have been written in reference to a particular Gursikh.by Umkeo Heo - Gurmat Discussion Forum
