QuoteSukhdeep SinghBhai Daya Singh Ji says it should be 2 1/2 yards. Im a little bit confused by these measurements because 2 1/2 yards would be up to my feet Veer Jee I think this is referring to the total amount of cloth required to stitch the Kacherra. I saw on TV a Singh Sahib said punj gaz (5 yards)!by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteSome kirpans have leather covers (miaans), some have handles made from bone. I was wondering is it okay to wear these whilst sitting on tabeya or doing seva of Guru Sahibs saroop. Obviously the hands will not come in contact with the kirpan whilst doing seva and it is also easy to do sodhaaee of the kirpans before carrying out seva - handle and miaan can be washed with water. I would like to ask if the Gursikhs in Toronto ever go on family/group trips to somewhere like Wonderland with all the bhujang fauj? Is this an acceptable place to go for tyaar bar tyaar Gursikh in Bana? I am not making fun, but genuinely would like to know.by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I have heard Gurmukhs say that an individual has 1 (or in some extreme circumstances 2) of the 5 vikaars that trouble them the most. The one which we suffer from most is the most difficult to overcome. This is only possible through ardaas, strict rehat, heavy naam abhiyaas and Gurbani paath, and seva. I think this may be helpful:by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I would just to clarify regarding the above: "When Gianee Gurbachan Singh Jee Khaalsaa was head of Taksaal there were less weaknesses. Candidates for Amrit were instructed to keep Sarbloh Bibek, Bibiaa were instructed to wear Dastaar. Giaanee Jee was Sarblohee himself and his family all wore the turban, including women. He especially had great love and affection for Bhai Sahib Randheer Singh. Beby Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Strongly agree with Bhai Kulbir Singh Jee on the concentration of Sri Jap Jee Sahib. It is just fathomless, I cannot understand even 1 pangtee. Also just regarding the point "1.It was the first BaNee to ucharaned by Satguru Jee" I am quite sure it was actually one of the last uchaared by Guru Jee, 8 years before jotijot at the same time of Sri Sidh Gost; conversing with Goorakh Naath and his discby Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

1kaur Bhainjee the Kes do indeed "harre karne" (dry), takes around 2-2.5 hours in this current weather, varies in Summer and Winter of course This is with running your fingers through now and shaking off excess water "maha_paapi" jee I consulted my Dad about your question, they said they are 2 different things. Veer Jee, here is procedure to cure dandruff: Ingredients: Khill Suhaagaa (You can buy this at most Indian stores, it looks like a big piece of misseri) Coconut Oil Plain Yoghurt Recipe: Take a lump of the Khill Suhaagaa (around a third of the size of the total lump) and put it on the tava, heat until it crystallises. After this, take it off the tava and grind it in pestle and mortar (by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I would like to ask the Gursikhs who perhaps have Guru Maharaaj Jee at their house, daily go to Gurdwara Sahib, or a member of the Sangat's house for Amritvela Simran and Nitnem how they manage the drying of the Kesh after Ishnaan? I ask this because it is best for our Kes if we aeirfy them after Ishnaan everyday, but if the routine is such that you have to sajjaa dastaar immediately with wet Kesby Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Initially after reading all the replies I still could not come a conclusion, but now after reading last reply of 1kaur jee I think we must do what naturally suits us best on a personal level. Also, those Gurmukhs who are doing Sri Jap Jee Sahib in 4 minutes would make short work of the 84 steps at Sri Goindwal Sahib lolby Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I am not surprised at these statements from Gyani Jee, as they have done a lot of sangat with gurmukhs like Sant Kartar Singh Jee, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee and Baba Thakur Singh Jee. I personally respect them a lot for the massive parchaar of Sikhi that they have been doing for many years now, and for their sometimes humourous and light hearted katha style.by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Mehtab Singh jee, that is not the reason why Bhai Sahib stopped doing seva in the Panj Pyaare. There is a different story to this which I'm sure members of this forum are aware of: Bhai Bao Mal Singh Jee and 4 other Gurmukhs (in the form of Panj Pyaare) approached Bhai Sahib and said "Bhai Sahib jee, many people are reluctant to take Amrit because of the strictness of Sarbloh rehat" Bhaiby Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Recently I was wondering why Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Jee tied sidhi dastaar instead of dumalla? Surely Bhai Sahib must have known that original dastaar was dumalla? Were these type of gurmukhi dastars worn in the days of Guru Jee in their human form? "BaNa is alike for both Singhs and Singhneeaa. I would like to ask if there is any difference in amount of Gurbani paath one can do in a certain time? For example, one Gursikh may take 2 hours to do Nitnem of 5 Banis and another Gursikh may be able to complete entire Sundar Gutka during this same time. Assuming both read Gurbani with the same level of attention, which is better?by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
What a ridiculous comment. If we visit Bhai Dalla Singh Jee's house near Takhat Sri Damadama Sahib we can have darshan of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jee Maharaaj's shastars and bastars. Along with the cholas are pyjamas. For some reason nearly all "Nihungs" are against pyjamas, and have some problem with those who wear them.by Jaskirat Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
