QuoteI think that it would help the Panth right now. Having one Rehat Maryada is key in my eyes. The problem among the masses is much bigger than this so called Ekta. Majority of the people who claim to be Sikhs are very far from the purpose for which one has to keep Rehat (including this Daas). The sole purpose is Naam Bhagti. When this is realized, everything else will fall into place. Naamby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Quotethe reason I posted this topic was not to start a debate on meat or convert vegetarians into non-veggies. I was just not able to find counter arguments to refute this source of Mohsin Fani. Bhai Sahib Jeeo, why do you even need a counter argument, provided that this writing written by a Non Sikh is directly contradicting Gurbani and Hukamnamas by Guru Sahibaan. QuoteMuslims do have strict dietary rules they do not have " an inclination to eat everything". Bhai Sahib Jeeo, it is written otherwise. The author actually believes that a Sikh of Guru Sahib has an inclination to eat whatever he likes. QuoteI do agree that Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj has his bani written in Sri Guru Granth Sahibji Mahraj Although this topic is not much of an issue as compared to the topic being discussed above, it's seems that all the Saloks under the Sirlekh 'Salok Mahalla 9' are written by Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji, as suggested by the Sirlek itself. This is contrary to the belief that one Salok is writtby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

It is a part of Rehat to have your head covered with a Keski while doing Pinda (body) Ishnaan. A Sikh doing Pinda Ishnaan bareheaded is liable to get Tankhaah.by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
One can have Darshan of Baba Ji at Gurudwara Akhand Parkash, village Bhinder Kahan, near Moga City. As a daily routine, Baba Ji comes out of their room at around 10 in the morning for Guru Sahib's Darshan. At other times, one cannot be sure if they'll get to meet him or not. On Sangrand, they are out for longer since they do Katha that day. But there is a lot of Sangat that day, so personal meetiby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteBindis show Vishesh Dhuni in modern Punjabi, but back in the times that these Banis were written, there was a separate marking used to convey it. I'm interested to know what type of markings were used. Could you please post some examples or pictures?by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Other similar examples are 'Nau Khand', 'Nau Nidhi', 'Atharah Siddhi', 'Khat Karam', etc. Such terms of contemporary language are explained quite well by Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha in Mahan Kosh. However, going too much into the details of these terms becomes a mess. So it is better to understand just the gist of it, in the same way as Bhai Kulbir Singh Ji has explained about 14 Lok above.by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteIt's hard to understand why some Sikhs are hell bent on proving that Vedas or Katebas are in accordance to Gurmat and that in Gurbani these scriptures are not rejected. I feel they want to prove that Sikhi is so super tolerant that no matter what one does in name of religion, everything is acceptable to Sikh Dharam. All this just to get Vaah-Vaahi of Duniyavi people. Lakh Laahnat!by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
One Singh quoted the following Pankti from Asa Ki Vaar to support his claim that Gurbani does not reject Vedas. ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ ਹੋਏ ਸਿਚਆਰ ॥ As obvious, this was an age old tactic of taking Panktis out of the entire context and misquoting it to justify personal opinions. During the times when Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh used to do seva in the Panj Pyaaray, it was a Hukam for Amrit Abhilaakhees to listen an Akhand Paath Sahib continuously from Aarambh till Bhog. QuoteMohkam singh Veer ji i know Soul transferred from one sharir to another..... Bt what happened with the sharir of Guru Nanak patshah????? Bhai Sahib/Bhain Jio, if you agree with Daas's answer, then why are you asking again about the Shareer? If we really believe that the Jot is the Guru, not the Shareer, then why are we so concerned about what happened with Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Shareer?by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Shareer (physical body) is not the Guru. Shabad is the Guru. So, Guru Sahib's physical body got changed from 'Guru Nanak Dev Ji' to 'Guru Angad Dev Ji'. This has been explained beautifully in Ramkali Kee Vaar (Satta Balwand). ਲਹਣੇਦੀਫੇਰਾਈਐਨਾਨਕਾਦੋਹੀਖਟੀਐ॥ ਜੋਤਿਓਹਾਜੁਗਤਿਸਾਇਸਹਿਕਾਇਆਫੇਰਿਪਲਟੀby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteHow often should we apply oil in our kes? Daily, weekly? Again, it varies from person to person. Daas personally does it every second day. Some people naturally have rough and frizzy hair, which require frequent application oil. Whereas some don't require frequent application. There are no specific answers regarding such questions. Some things depends entirely on one's personal preferenceby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteShould bunga not be tied then even if it's separate from the keski and dastar is able to open from the top? Should joora not be individually covered at all? It is not prohibited to tie a bunga. It is just that it is more convenient to tie only a Keski and a Dastar at the time of Amrit Sanchaar due to the reason given by Bhai Sahib Kulbir Singh Jiby Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
In addition to Bhai Sahib Kulbir Singh Ji advice, a Keski is supposed to be around 2 metres long, so that it can go around one's head 3 - 4 times. Basically, what differentiates a Dastara from a Keski is the length. So, a 'very long' dastar should be used as the Dastara on top of one's Keski, not as the Keski itself.by Mohkam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Quote1. Is it non-gurmat to use store bought shampoo like herbal essences or dove? If so, what are some good alternatives? It is fine to use shampoo. Some Singhs use Dahi instead of shampoo. Quote2. Are we to use shampoo everyday, because this may lead to hair damage, lack of natural oils, etc? It is advisable to use shampoo less frequently.
