This is a little bit off topic... but... I've heard a lot of Gursikh youth say that when they get married, they won't give birth to any kids but would rather adopt kids instead. Some of them even say it with some level of judgment as if giving birth to children when there are adoptable children available is immoral. They say this with the best of intentions and I agree that adopting one chby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I remember reading a detailed post by Kulbir Singh a long time ago on the 5 khands (spiritual realms). We all know that those are Jeevan Mukhth like Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh were residing in Sach Khand while they were still physically alive because their Dasam Duaar had opened (negating all of the lies out there which revolve around how Bhai Sahiby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I would like to seek some guidance on what the proper protocols are with respect to electronic/digital Gurbani. For example, many people do certain paath from their computer (if they are reading from a Sukhmani Sahib pdf for example). Another increasingly common example is people who do certain paath from their smartphones. I know some peoplby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I think the above mentioned two categories don't cover the full spectrum of patits. There are some who are defiant and there are some who are remorseful but then there is also a large middle area as well. What if someone cuts their kesh, feels bad about it, recognizes it as a mistake due to their weakness but does not have immediate plans to keep their kesh again (although they claim they wby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Simply put: What entails Rehraas Sahib? My personal opinion is that Rehraas Sahib is a dynamic Baanee (there is no set version) and it is outlined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee from Sodar until Asa Mehla 5 (Bhaaee Puraapth...) as the minimum but that the panth has said that Baynthee Chaupaaee Sahib (followed by the Svaiya and Dohra), 6 Pauree Anby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It really is not an analogous situation at all. Gursikhs must keep suchum. Manmukhs know nothing about suchum. In addition, it matters who we eat from. Eating from a Gursikh - a beloved of the Guru, brings spiritual nourishment. Eating from a Manmukh is spiritually draining. It might not be easy to recognize this immediately - but it will become apparent inevitably. santhan kaa dhaby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
You can draw an analogy between bibek and Kosher for Jews - which they might find more relateable. Otherwise, generally, it will be hard to explain since your family will be unfamiliar with the spiritual/gurmat concepts that underline the importance of dietary bibek. It is important to be careful since it is common for people to get defensive and insecure and react in an unfortunate way...by Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Veerjee Kulbir Singh, Your explanation for why we should pronounce as "Shanti" and "Shabad" makes a lot of sense. However... what about situations where Gurbani could have easily been written to reflect a certain pronunciation but was not? A lot of times it might make sense to insert the tippee sound when it is not actually present (even though it was available to be used at the time).by Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I just found this interesting writeup relating to this topic: Swami Nitya Nand (who left his physical body at the age of 135 years) writes in his book Guru Gyan: "I, in the company of my Guru Swami Brahma Nanda, while on a pilgrimage tour, reached Punjab. There we met Swami Satya Nanda, Udaasi (a Hindu ascetic) He expounded Guru Nanak’s philosophy and religiosity so eloquently that Swamiby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! There's been a topic that I've been curious about for some time. We all know that the religion of Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Jee is the greatest religion there could ever possibly be. It is unparalleled, it is unrivaled, it is incomparable. No one on this forum should disagree about the fact that Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Jee was actually Vaheguru himsby Gurdas Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
