I once asked a Gursikh about this Sakhi. I said a lot of people say it is not in line with Gurmat because Guru Sahib would never support the lifestyle of Sadhus who go begging for food and don't do Kirt. The Gursikh said that they were hungry and Guru Sahib fed them simple as that. They were hungry, Guru Sahib being Dyaal helped them. Nothing else to it. Bhai Sahib is writing that being big and strong like an elephant is useless, and being a strong and proud animal like a lion is useless, instead one should be like a goat which is humble. Bhai Sahib is using the example that goats are very popular and serve many purposes, no one eats elephant meat or lion meat but everyone eats goat meat, the goats skin is used for various purposes. Saying Parvaan Karo stems from missionary thinking that states that Guru Sahib does not eat the Degh. However, Shardavaan and Puratan thinking Gursikhs know that if Degh is made according to Maryada then Guru Sahib for sure eats the degh and blesses it. This is why it is called Sheet Parshaad, meaning Guru Sahib has tasted the Degh. Saying Bhog laao is Puratan Maryada and should be followed. I haby gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

That Satnaam (Amrit Naam) and Amrit which many deities, angels and gods thirst after, is received only from Satguru Nanak. The gods and heavenly heralds, the Siddhas and seekers and Shiva in Samaadhi Seek the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਸby gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I've never heard of self-raising powder, but I think you mean self raising flour, which is ok to use. Baking powder is also widely used by Bibeki Singhs. Cream of Tartar however I do not think is acceptable, other Gursikhs can correct me if I'm wrong. Some Gursikhs use alcohol free vanilla extract while others don't use it, and use only vanilla beans.by gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Some friends question that if Satnaam is only received through Guru Sahib and it is only with Satnaam that beings can be truly saved, then how were people saved before Guru Nanak Sahib Jee came to this world? This is a valid inquiry, as it has been proven that true mukhti can only be achieved through Gurmat. In response to this, we loudly proclaim a million times with much enthusiasm that genuby gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Beautiful points! When I see young, Rehatvaan, Gursikh parents in the Panth today I get really happy and excited for the future of the Panth. When I was young I remember hearing that there are lots of Gursikh souls waiting to come to Earth to help spread Gurmat and create Khalsa Raj, but there are not many worthy parents for them, they will only come into the homes of Rehatvaan, Tatt Gurmat faby gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaahiguroo! Beautiful write up! So sad to see this trend in Sikhi. All Gursikhs should dress modestly, and strive to wear only Bana! Only then will we be Niaara and get Guru Sahib's full Khushi.by gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It is unfortunate that because of the actions of a few, all sarblohis are getting a bad name of looking down on others and thinking of themselves as better. There are only a few like this, and that is a genuine concern. However, for the most part, people that say that sarblohis think of themselves as better than others are only saying this because of their own insecurity of not keeping rehat. DaasGupt jee I know what you are trying to say, but these distinctions are man made. Somewhere along the line 5 Kakkars, 4 Kureits and Nitnem became the "minimum" rehat. Now it seems to us that we should keep basic "minimum" just to qualify as Sikhs. Without Bibek rehat how can anyone be tyaar bar tyaar? Why Sikhi? Whenever Sikhi is talked about with a non-Sikh, us Sikhs are quick to point out that we believe in equality and our religion is a very peaceful and loving one. We quickly say that we believe all religions are equal and lead to the same destination. Well, this last point is completely false. Today, unfortunately is the time of these missionaries who do not have even an iota of Gurmat in them. They have taken advantage of the disunity within the Panth and have started their Koor Parchar. I understand your point Bhai Kulbir Singh, but to me it seems that if it was done unknowingly then it was not a big offence, if he had knowingly given Dasvand to other organizations then he should be asked to give all previous Dasvand back to Panth. Same way in most situations if a mistake is done on accident, usually the punishment is not the same as if that mistake was done on purpose. Anyways,by gsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Over the years one of the topics that has always confused many Gursikhs is that of Mukhti. Many Gursikhs do Ardas to Guru Sahib to give them Mukhti, and others say Gursikhs have nothing to do with Mukhti, only Preet for Guru Sahib's Charan Kamal. So what exactly is Mukhti in Gurmat? Kharak Singh, it is not a big deal that you have been giving to Red Cross for the last three years because you did so unknowingly, now that you know that Dasvand should be given only to the Panth, you should immediately start giving it to the Panth instead of Red Cross or other charities.
