Bhai Manpreet Singh Kanpuri - Kirpa Kar Banwariya Bhai Manpreet Singh needs to do more recordings like this! He has too many recordings that have other studio instruments, almost like a bollywood song composition.by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sorry to bring this topic up again, but can you please make a video about this, as well as Sri Basant Kee Vaar? Also, it's nice to see Bhai Kulbir Singh on the computer in the "Who Are We?" video but we need Bhai Sahib to share their vichaars in videos as well!by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Khalsa Ji, We always hear Kirtan of Sri Asa Ki Vaar and Sri Basant Ki Vaar but what about the Vaaran? Does anyone know of any Kirtan recordings of the other 20 Vaaran?by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum

He was a very inspiring individual. Basics of Sikhi helped me a lot when I first started learning about Sikhi. If only everyone thought about unity like him, a lot of today's problems would be solved.by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Will this be available in Toronto-area stores such as Sacha Sauda and Sikh Virasat? Who's the author and publisher?by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It is sad to see. A couple of weeks ago raagi Bhai Nirmal Singh spoke about similar things happening with the selection of raagis at Sri Darbar Sahib and now there are some hazoori raagis that don't even know how to sing in the Raags of Gurbani. People say these are just little things but then they wonder why the Panth is not currently as strong as it should be. Guru Sahib blessed us with all ofby DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh What are some good english books about Sikhi that would be good to recommend to someone who doesn't know anything about Sikhi?by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteGood topic, where do words like naam (name) and Boith (boat) derive from, could it possibly be latin? Not exactly what I meant, I mean the actual languages that Guru Sahib has written Shabads in, such as Punjabi, Hindi, Sanskrit, etc. Just curious to see how many languages Guru Sahib used and which ones exactly, as Guru Sahib must have deemed those languages as worthy of being used. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I was wondering if someone could please provide a list of all of the languages that are present in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
To add to the point about teaching Punjabi, this should also include teaching kids Muharni so that they can be fluent in reading and reciting Gurbani.by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Guru Pyarey Khalsa Ji, I've been thinking about this Shabad and I don't quite understand the last two Panktis: ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਭੀਤby DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum

QuoteThe last video above, is from good times when Bhai Harjinder Singh and his brother Bhai Manjinder Singh were doing KIrtan together. The Tabla person too is the original one. Very well renditioned Shabad. Kulbir Singh If I'm not mistaken, the tabla player is their brother too and his name is Bhai Jatinderpal Singh. I've seen videos of Bhai Harjinder Singh and Bhai Manjinder Singh doingby DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Eating meat is probably the least compassionate thing anyone can do. To add to what Bhai Kaal Singh said in his post, goray even take it a step further than us by not consuming dairy and becoming vegan. It is Guru Sahib's Hukam to not consume meat and that's to make us compassionate, which is something even non-Sikhs understand and practice. By the way, what you quoted is not even a Sikh Granth.by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Just another reminder that no one can ever finish Sikhi. Guru Sahib Jee tells us right from the start: ਆਦਿਸਚੁਜੁਗਾਦਿਸਚੁ॥ ਹੈਭੀਸਚੁਨਾਨਕਹੋਸੀਭੀਸਚੁ॥੧॥by DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sikhi is definitely diluted compared the lifestyles and devotion of Puratan Gursikhs. With that being said, I don't think it's a matter of the East being spiritually better than the West because Guru Sahib says: ਜਿਥੈ ਜਾਇ ਬਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥ and Guru Granth Sahib Ji is with us here in theby DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Quoteeyesacademic About this point, Guru Angad sahib ji encouraging wrestlers, I always wondered were those wrestlers kesh-dhari? Because you cannot wrestle with Kesh. Well you can but they would come untied all the time. The best way to handle the kesh is first by tying them in a gutt (ਗੁੱਤ) with a ribbon interweaved and then doing a joorha, just like we do with kids. But even that doesby DarbarDaKookar - Gurmat Discussion Forum
