There are so many singh's on this forum who follow this rule, yet one of you can't even explain the reasoning behind this? does this mean you all follow this maryada for no reason? or that you don't know why you do this. I was under the impression that this was a site where questions of gurmat could be answered.by guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The singhs and I were discussing the maryada of making dheg and the point that, whilst the dheg is being made and up until the point where the dheg becomes parvaan by guru sahib, no non tyaar bar tyaar singh is allowed to look at the dheg, was. Is this true? If so, what part of looking at dheg makes it unsucha. Please provide some kind of reference from a book of bhai sahibs or any other gurmukhsby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
vaheguroo jee i came across this article on a website and was wondering whether or not it is against gurmat to read japjee sahib along side an akhand paat. i've always been told that it isn't against gurmat because when akhand paat is being read, there shouldn't be anything else going on in the hazooree of guru sahib, even people aspiring to listen to the whole paat do three nitnems afby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

The first thing you should do is start reading all the baniya you are able to read fluently, in lardivaar. for example, your nitnem, start reading it in lardivaar and any other baniya you have incorporated into your nitnem. if you want to improve your reading abilities of guru granth sahib jee, i would recommend reading the pad sheh of what you want to practice 10 times, after that, read it againby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
people say that a lot, but if you look at it from a logical standpoint, it doesn't mean anything at all, being born into a hindu family doesn't make someone a hindu, just like being born into a Sikhi family doesn't make you a sikh, until you act the part too. Most of the singh's that i've asked have told me that bhai Veer singh's history books are the most reliable source for guru sahibaan saby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Vjkk Vjkf This past week, I was at school and engaged one of my friends in a conversation regarding the purpose of his life, he too was a punjabi born and his knowledge of sikhi extended to knowing the name of our Pehlaa Patshaah, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee and dasme Patshah, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee, but that's about it. Doing keeran from memory is really important, how can a keertanee do shabads which ask for darshan and how desperate they are for darshan when an individual cant even take the time and effort to memorize the shabad? Nothing is hard, hard is just a state of mind, once you get over that and do ardas to guru sahib, there shouldnt be any reason why you cant do khant keertan. vaheguroo, This joonee and world is like a long, harsh desert, people suffer and toil in it's heat, never finding peace, they go from one place to another trying to find their inner peace, but all they do is sink under the weight of vikaars, maya, distractions. the ponds in the above mentioned story is the nirmolak heera of sikhi, bani and naam. bani and naam are such a thing that, ifby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Jaspreet Singh, no one, at least not me, is saying that we should support these actions, what i am saying is that, yes they are visibly straying from the puratan and proper path of gursikhi, if the more chardikalaa, gurmat oriented people were to at the very least, be apart of sangat for a little while, then maybe, some people, i'm not saying all of them, but at least some people can see theby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Veer Upkaar Singh I understand what you are saying and i agree with what you say, nothing in this world fristrated me more than the thought of people making a mockery of sikhi. How can people treat sikhi like it is a small thing?!?! I will never understand this. To state thay bana, sarbloh bibek and lardivaar isnt necessary in sikhi is the epitome of kaljyug. Its become kinda sad that putting panthic ekta to one side, we cant even get jathebandee ekta, i think in todays time and age, before we can think about bringing taksaal and jatha back together, we should gather the piece of jatha and taksaal and bring them together, akj has three splits in toronto alone, they have two splits in california. Vaheguroo jee Guru sahib has done kirpa on blessing this daas for about 7 years, and recently i've been thinking of an issue that has presented itself before me numerous times, the Paanj Pyaare rejected an abhilaakhee because he/she is married and their partner isn't willing to take amrit. no one has ever told me why they do this, why is the person rejected a chance to present their head to guby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguroojee It has recently been found out that the culprit is none other than the bazurag's son, the bazurag had 100 thousand dollars saved up in insurance and the son ordered a hit and run on his own father to claim the money. Ghor kaljyug. Daasby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

vaheguroo jee i still don't understand what people insist on not pronouncing the sh sounds, no one has yet been able to tell me what the word "sabad" , "saran" and "saster" mean. vaheguroo jee To avoid having to come back to this kaljug again, what is the point in being in sikhi and still not being able to free yourself from the cycle of life and death. vaheguroo jee to disregard a person based on which family they were born, what kind of property they own, or on their physical appearance is the pinnacle of ignorance. castes have no place at all in gurmat, yet caste discrimination is prevalent to the extent that even gursikh families who claim to hold no importance to castes will, in a roundabout fashion, try to find out which caste the otherby guptbabbar84 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
