Recently Chatrik got interested to research Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Maharajs only Salok in

But, there seem to be 2 more irregularities that Chatrik came over(the 1st one being the sirlekh ਮ : ੧੦ irregularity ).

This is how the present day only Bani of Guru Gobind Singh ji comes in current printed saroops:

ਬਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਤ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਹਾਥ ਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੫੪॥

Ironically this is how it comes in puratan saroops:

ਮ : ੧੦
ਬਲੁ ਹੂਓ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਤ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਹਾਥ ਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੫੪॥

1)It is ਹੂਓ instead of ਹੋਆ
2) ਨਾਨਕ is not present in the puratan version

This is how it comes in Puratan saroops, it claims the likharee is Baba Deep Singh.(photos found online) The sirlekhs for mahalla:10 seem to be inconsistent.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Can anyone give a detailed history behind this rachna of Guru Sahib?
2)Why the word ਨਾਨਕ has been added in the current saroops?
3) ਹੂਓ or ਹੋਆ ?

my mistake there is another irregularity dass forgot to highlight.

This is how it appears in the puratan saroops with the 3rd irregularity in red:

ਮ : ੧੦
ਬਲੁ ਹੂਓ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਤ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਹਾਥ ਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੫੪॥

it show ਹੋਇ in puratan and ਹੋਤ in current ones.
its shocking that many of the lagamatras dont't match with the Puratan saroops. Just compares the lagamatras in the puratan saroops with the ones in current saroop.
the 2nd saroop(pic in colour) is at Sri AKal Takht Sahib.

The last Saroop said to be dated 1707 has the Paath for Mundavani - ਕਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ instead of ਥਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ. This doesn't seem correct. In the second Pankiti the correct Paath is ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਪਇਓ but this old Saroop contains ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਪਾਇਓ . The meanings totally change by writing ਪਾਇਓ instead of ਪਇਓ. Based on the meanings, it seems like the Paath in printed Saroops is correct. The 1707 Saroop does not seem to be Shudh as far as spellings are concerned.

Not all Puraatan Saroops are shudh as far as spellings are concerned. Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara all his life kept appealing to SGPC to make a panel of scholars to correct the typo mistakes of the current printed Saroops but no one listened. He himself did a lot of research on this subject and his findings are secure somewhere, but don't know where.

I would like to add that a vast vast majority of Paath in Saroops of Maharaj jee printed by SGPC are Shudh. Its only a small amount where the Ashudhis are there. If SGPC does on more push for Shudh spellings, the current Saroop would become highly Shudh as far as spellings are concerned.

No one should bring any doubt on the current Saroops for fraction of typo mistakes. Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee is the Jaagdi Jyot of Vaheguru jee.

Black & white picture.
The 1st saroop is from 1705 (Baba Deep Singh)
The 2nd saroop is from 1707-not sure

The colored picture.
the 3rd is taken from a pro-ragmala site.(that saroop is in Sri Akal Takht Sahib)
Date is unknown.

Can the singhs bring this salook into their attention when doing research?
as it is the only bani of Dasam Patshah present in

Bhai Sahib, i know what you're saying, but if you zoom in really close in the picture you can see that it is thaal, the thatha is very bent but is closed of on the side. have a close look. thought i'll just point that out.

Kulbir Singh Ji - If you are referring to the last Saroop shown (colour pic) if you look carefully it does say ਥਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ rather than ਕਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ. Just noticed that there is also a mistake with the line It is showing as

It would be great if all the Birs were standardised.

When the current saroops are printed do they use one of the original hand written ones as a template?

Bhai Kulbir Singh ji,
1) What do the puratan saroops you have referred to show?

Dass didnt dare to use the word "mistake" as Chatrik himself didnt knew what was right. Hence, thought the using the word 'irregularity' would have been more suitable.

SadhSangat ji please, Forgive Chatrik if any misunderstanding was caused.sad smiley

2)Another thing. In puratan saroops majority show the manglacharan ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ before mundhavani..this is how it is majority of them appear:

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
................

As any thoughts on the 2 issues ?

Also, when writing Gurbani of salok mehalla 9 (gutka/SGGS ji saroop). Will it be ok to add ਮ : ੧੦ to the 54th salok?

Pyaare Chatrik jeeo, my comments were not geared towards you but just a general admonishment to everyone to not start doubting Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee because of some typos.

Saw this on Veer Jivanpal Singh's flickr account. It's Salok Mehalla 9 Bani from a Puratan Gutka:

Anyone who is knowledgeable on this, please do shed some light.
