gurbani questions

Ive noticed many times in gurbani that there are gaps between 2 letters in a word. for e.g. the word "amrit" may in certain places be spelt "a-mrit" in gurbani. What is the reason and significance of this?

Another question - "sriraag m1 ghar theeja 3" where is 3 repeated twice? should we say theeja one or twice when reciting this bani?

Another question - "sriraag m1 ghar theeja 3" where is 3 repeated twice? should we say theeja one or twice when reciting this bani?

Take an example from the start of Siri Raag

ਰਾਗੁ ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ 1 ਘਰੁ 1

Here after ਮਹਲਾ we see both ਪਹਿਲਾ and 1. In this case, ਪਹਿਲਾ should be pronounced only once and not twice. Normally numericals are used for Mahalla but as a guide, it appears in written form as above - ਪਹਿਲਾ. at few places.

I did not understand the first question. Can you provide an example where there is a split in words.

How can I post in gurmukhi script?
I'll try to explain again here. With gurmukhi script there is a continuous line on top of letters like "----------" what ive noticed is that some words clearly have extra "--" between 2 letters in that particular word. Maybe this is just a printing thing? but it seems deliberate to me.

It looks like it is a printing thing. If someone else can add to it, it would be great.
