Khalsa Ji,

The literal translation is:
Those who have heard/seen Guru Nanak will not take rebirth. That said, Moola Khatri had heard of Guru Nanak and had seen them too. Moola took rebirth until 10th patshahi liberated him. Furthermore, Gurbani says ‘Satgur noo sabh dekda jeta sansar, diteh mukt na howe jichar shabad na kare veechar’. So, from the last line, it’s clear that kamai of SGGS teachings is essential if one desires mukti.

When attempting to understand Gurbani, one has to take each pankti in context of the whole SGGS, otherwise it will lead to misinterpretation...

Basically the process starts but completion depends upon the kamai of Naam and how much Naam kamai depends upon Guru's grace.

Khalsa Ji,

Vashnaa is the root cause of rebirths, and the subsequent sukh dukh associated with it. There are nine types of bhagti, but if we embark on prema baghti, we can reach mukti quicker.

In Khalsa Dharam Shastar Granth, it is written that Guru Gobing Singh will give his Sikh rebirth in a Sikh family. Guru Ji will give this rebirth a hundred times, until the Sikh finally loses vashnaa.

We just need to take kamde di pauhal, adhere to rehat...

Khalsa Ji,

Sometimes when people do Naam simran, they still might yearn for some worldly pleasures. Worldly pleasures such as big houses, expensive cars, offspring, high status jobs. It is this vaashna that brings one back to maat lok (this world).

Naam simran, with sincere devotion will drown out the vaashna. How long will this take? It depends on the amount of time devoted to simran. It depends on Satguru’s kirpa.

Waheguru...

P.s. there are different types of mukti. The ultimate mukti is where one can choose to come back from Sachkhand, at their own will.

Bair biroḏẖ kām kroḏẖ moh.
Hate, conflict, sexual desire, anger, emotional attachment,

Jẖūṯẖ bikār mahā lobẖ ḏẖaroh.
falsehood, corruption, immense greed and deceit:

ਇਆਹੂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਬਿਹਾਨੇ ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ॥
I▫āhū jugaṯ bihāne ka▫ī janam.
So many lifetimes are wasted in these ways.

Nānak rākẖ leho āpan kar karam. ||7||
Nanak: uplift them, and redeem them, O Lord - show Your Mercy! ||7||

Khalsa Ji,

There are many refeferences in Gurbani, as to the cause of rebirth. The above is one example...

Please expand on Jivanmkta and Param mukti and how to attain or work on it, much appreciated.

I thought Param mukti is basically for Saints. (Helper of humanity in particular and of Creation in general)

If I am not mistaken Guru Granth Sahib ji mentions about Jivanmukti…..

So kind of you.

Khalsa Ji,

Sarab baikunṯẖ mukaṯ mokẖ pā▫e.
Everything is obtained: the heavens, liberation and deliverance,

Ėk nimakẖ har ke gun gā▫e.
if one sings the Lord's Glories, even for an instant.

There are many references in SGGS regarding Mukti. The above Shabad says that every liberation can be attained through Naam Simran, even if done for a Nimhak. This period of time is approximately equal to the blink of an eye. When will Guru Ji bless us with this Nimakh? It all depends on Guru Ji’s kirpa.

Guru Ji said: take Kandeh di pauhal, adhere to rehat. Do Naam Simran with utmost devotion. The Sikh will be blessed with this...

Waheguru...

The following thread explains the different mukti.

Baṇī gurū gurū hai baṇī vicẖ baṇī amriṯ sāre.

The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained.

Gur baṇī kahai sevak jan mānai parṯakẖ gurū nisṯāre. ||5||

If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru's Bani, then the Guru, in person, emancipates him. ||5||

Mukaṯ pā▫ī▫ai sāḏẖsangaṯ binas jā▫e anḏẖār. ||3||

liberation is attained in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3||

Jīvan mukaṯ so ākẖī▫ai jis vicẖahu ha▫umai jā▫e. ||6||

He alone is called Jivan-Mukta, liberated while yet alive, from within whom egotism is eradicated. ||6||

Sarab baikunṯẖ mukaṯ mokẖ pā▫e.
Everything is obtained: the heavens, liberation and deliverance,

But how to beg for ultimate or Param mukti

Ordinary Mukti Anand (bliss) only; no consciousness of "I am God" or of duality No
Videh Mukti "I am God" (Sat-Chit-Anand or Knowledge, Power and Bliss) without consciousness of duality No
Jivanmukti "I am God" (Sat-Chit-Anand) with consciousness of duality No
Param Mukti Simultaneously "I am God" (Sat-Chit-Anand) with duality and divinity in action Yes

or

sāyujya, sālokya, sārupya, sāmipya and sārsti. Sāyujya

So there are 4 to 5 types I guess
