Poem question

I love to write poems though have no understanding of poetic styles or formation. Thinking about Bhai Bachittar Singh I was trying to write something but the 3rd para which was coming to my mind was of completely different styles than first 2 paras. Is it OK for poems or shall I rethink. If I shall rethink, do the first 2 paragraphs style look reasonable or is the third one better? If you can write a paragraph example of better style, I can take guidance from that. Please share your thoughts.

ਰਾਜੇ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਵੜਗੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਨਾਲ ਧ੍ਰੋਹ ਕਮਾਇਆ
ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਤ ਕਰਿਆ, ਕਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਨ ਲਾਇਆ
ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸੂਹੀਏ ਨੇ, ਜੰਗ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਆਣ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ

ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਾਤ, ਸਿੰਘ ਬਚਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹਾਥ
ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਸਾਤ, ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਾਗਣੀ ਬਰਛਾ ਸਾਥ

ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀਓ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੀ ਵੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਯਾ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕ ਕਾਯਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ | ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਵ੍ਯ ਵਿਦਯਾ ਦੀ ਅਪਣੀ ਇਕ ਮੌਜ, ਉੜਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ | ਏ ਇਕ ਗੂੜੀ ਵਿਦਯਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਹੈ | ਜੇੜੇ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਾਵ੍ਯ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂ ਇਸ ਵਿਦਯਾ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਿਸ਼ ਹੇਠ ਅੰਕਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਓਹ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਤਾਬਦਿਯਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਅਪਣੇ ਪੰਥ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਲ ਪੌਂਦੀਯਾਂ ਹਨ |

ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਓਸੂਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁਛ ਮੁਖ੍ਯ ਪਦਾਰੱਥ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਲੰਕਾਰ, ਰੱਸ, ਵਯਾਕਰ੍ਣ, ਮਾਤ੍ਰਾਵਾਂ, ਚਾਲ, ਉਥਾਨ੍ਕਾ ਆਦੀ ਦਾ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ |

Thanks Bhai Sahib but this link is in Hindi so couldn't get it. Is there any book you recommend in Punjabi which summarizes key styles and formation in a decent way?

Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha wrote a book, Gurchhand Divakar. It catalogues almost all the chhands used in gurbani. The book has its first chapter dedicated to theory of chhand structures.

But i doubt yiu could find this book , its out of print.

As an alternative i would suggest any book from list recommended books for MA Panjabi syllabus.. Try syllabi of all 3 universities, panjab university, Panjabi university and Guru Nanak Dev University.

Bhai Sahib I don't have much info on the book to recommend. If I would have been in your place, I would start by looking at the syllabus of "MA in Punjabi" by any Punjabi University. The syllabus usually suggest couple of books which should suffice your need. Try this link : [www.kuk.ac.in]

You may also contact PDL team, in case they have scanned books, which have gone out of print, in their repository.

I have Gurchhand Divakar in my collection back home in India, and at some point in future, when it reaches me, I shall scan and upload it for anyone interested.
