The gist of this var is to teach the distinct difference of Gurmats view on how Akal Purakh manifested in this creation through the sargun saroop of Naam. The verses should not be interpreted as Akal Purakh manifested fully in the 10 avtars as Vishnu. In destroying the demons and protecting the devotees, there are times in history that Akal Purakh temporarily and partly manifested in these avtars ( ex Narsingh killing Harnaksh). But these were not incarnates of Vaheguru they could not give naam. Only in Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji did he permanently and fully manifest himself to his devotees and give them Naam.

Ik Oankaar means One Akal Purakh who manifests from Nirgun to Sargun. Sargun Akal Purakh using Gurmat SatNaam created all tangible world. Then 3 Dev stemmed from Sargun Akal Purakh and 10 Avatars originated from these 3 Dev. Akal Purakh is Aad (source and start of all), He sees them (Devs and Avatars), but he is not visible to them. Shekh Naag utters countless qualities of Him but can’t define Him. It’s the Gurmat Naam that enables one to meet Him and for this reason, it is dear to the mind of Gurmukhs.
