bibeki ingredients?

Are the following ingredients acceptable in bibeki cooking:

- self-raising powder sold at shops
is normally plain flower with some added baking powder and salt

- baking powder sold at shops
this is basically bicarbonate of soda (a bibeki single ingredient) combined with an acid ingredient (typically cream of tartar) to give it a raising quality for foods.

- cream of tartar

- vanilla extract

I request sangat list more ingredients which we are unsure count as single bibeki ingredients.

I've never heard of self-raising powder, but I think you mean self raising flour, which is ok to use. Baking powder is also widely used by Bibeki Singhs. Cream of Tartar however I do not think is acceptable, other Gursikhs can correct me if I'm wrong. Some Gursikhs use alcohol free vanilla extract while others don't use it, and use only vanilla beans.

Sorry, yes I meant self raising flour.

Note that most porridge oats sold today are not bibeki. This is because they are partially cooked/heat treated.
Only raw/non heated oats are bibeki. These can be found at specialist stores or online.

Some more ingredients I'm unsure about:

- coconut flour

- custard
