Many thanks Bhai Gurditt Singh jeeo for sharing this story.

Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee and Sawan Singh, the second guru of Beas Radhasoami group (the first one was Baba Jaimal Singh), knew each other since their villages were close by. Bhai Sahib was from Narangwal and Sawan Singh was from Mehimasinghwala. They had several interesting encounters. One such encounter can be found at the following link:

Heard this from an elder Singh, while he did veechars regarding a 'kacha Guru' many years ago.

Once a very accomplished Gurmukh thought of paying a visit to the man( Jaimal ), who had started this Radhasoami cult. As this cult was gaining prominence day by day. This gurmukh did so. When he arrived at the dera, the followers of this dehdhari Guru informed the sudden arrival of this Gurmukh and Jaimal was very pleased by it. Jaimal treated this gurmukh with respect as he was a very accomplished gursikh of the panth. The Gurmukh too meet Jaimal with humility and respect.

They started having a conversation, when the Gurmukh proposed to Jaimal that, "Lets take a walk outside as it is a beautiful day". Jaimal agreed. After walking for sometime and conversing with each other, they came over across a river in their pathway. The Gurmukh said to Jaimal, "Let's cross the river". Jaimal said, "Sure, let me order my sevadars to prepare a boat for both of us". The Gurmukh replied, " Well there is no need for that, I am sure we can cross the river". Saying this the Gurmukh walked straight into the surface of the river.

The Gurmukh standing on the surface of the water said to Jaimal, "Come, what are you waiting for?" . Seeing the Gurmukh, Jaimal was in a state of shock. The Gurmukh said to Jaimal, "You claim yourself to be a Guru. But you can't even cross this river without a boat? How will you ferry across lakhs of followers you have made and promised salvation?". He got chills down his spine seeing such a sight and hearing such words coming from the Gurmukh.

The Gurmukh walked back to the river's bank and advised Jaimal that he should leave his fake gurudom and become a proper SIkh of Satguroo Nanak Dev Sahib Maharaj. Saying this the Gurmukh left.

Jaimal was hit hard by this incident and the words the Gurmukh had uttered to him. Deep down he wanted to leave his fake Gurudom, but did not have the courage to do so. As he did not have the courage to tell lakhs of his followers that he was in no way a "Guru". His had a very sad demise as deep down the truth kept torturing the falsehood he was spreading before the incident. This happened a few of years before his demise.

Thanks for sharing this very important Saakhi Veer Chatrik jeeo. I think Jaimal Singh was not as adamant to stay as a Guru as his successor Sawan Singh was. It was Sawan Singh who really took Radhasoami matt to heights and got independant from the Agra headquarters. Jaimal Singh always stayed under the Council of Agra and for many years did not even give Naam as he did not have authority from the council.

At the time of his death, Swami Shiv Dyal the founder of thid faith, named 3 successors. The main successor was his main Chela, Saligram. For Sadhus his successor was Sanmukh Daas and for women, his wife Radha. Jaimal Singh's name does not appear anywhere in the old records of Agra. This is why Jaimal Singh stayed hesitant all his life to declare himself as a Guru but his cunning successor Sawan Singh was both bold and strong. He and his grandson Charan Singh took this sect to where it is now.
