Bluestar 84 - Unknown Facts
June 04, 2013 12:20PM
I would like to share some unknown facts about some incidents during the 14 day Jang of Sakaa Neela Taraa

* Jathdaar Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar and few other Gursikhs (including Bhai Amrik Singh jee Taksal) encounter a number of Soldiers in a alley way near Sri Darbar Sahib a while before Bhai Mengha Singh jee got Shaheedi. The soldiers walking through the alley said insulting remarks about Sri Darbar Sahib, Singhs being on high alert and in Chardikaala took all the Soldiers Shaster and shouted Jaakareh. About 30mins later a Lieutenant came on a loudspeaker requesting the Shaster back, the Singhs refused and told them to come and get them! (by this time Bhai Mengha Singh and 8 unarmed Sikhs had be killed).

* Shaheed Bhai Anokh Singh jee fought in the Jang but from the the evening of the 4th June till the 6th did Sevaa of escorting Sangataan safely from the Sri Darbar Sahib along with other Gursikhs

* The Hazoor Sahib Singhs were the last to get Shaheed on the 14th June, they fought bravely from inside the Bhora near Ramgharia Bunga. These Gursikhs did major Chaupai Sahib Jaap for 5 Days before the Army entered Amritsar Sahib. The army had major difficultly with just these few Singhs. Eventually gas was used to get them out and they where killed by machine gun fire.

* A Gursikh Bibi who was married to a Singh doing Sevaa in Sikh Federation become Shaheed in one the rooms around Sri Darbar Sahib this Great Bibi held a Double Gauge Shotgun which was virtually impossible for her to hold due to it pushing back when it was fired. But with the grace of Akaal Purakh this Bibi did not stop firing for 14 hours straight, due to pullback power her shoulder popped out of her body and was visible. All around her up to her knees she was standing in bullet shells. This did not effect her and she continued doing Naam Abhyass until her final breath. She was killed by the the Tanks of the Evil Sarkaari

*There where only two Gursikhs who had bullet proof vests during the Jang, one being Bhai Sukhdev Singh jee who had researched into shaster,

*Sant jee was last seen in a Orange Dumalla in full Chardikaala chanting Sri Asa Kee Vaar and telling Singhs this it don't hold back. He was in much bliss!

*The water tank located near Sri Darbar Sahib was taken down by the Singhs with Soldiers on there, there was flood around that area leaving many soldiers washed up.

More to follow.

* Just like Gursikh Children where mercilessly killed by Mir Mannu, a similar thing happened on the Parkarma of Sri Darbar Sahib. Soldiers caught hold of small babies and children by their feet, lifted them up in the air and then smashed them against the walls thus breaking their skulls

*2500 Hath Likath Puratan Saroops were burnt by the Army

*Keertan of Chandi Di Vaar and other similar shabads was done throughout the battle

*The maryada of Sri Asa Ki Vaar Keertan was not broken with Guru Sahibs Kirpa. Though only on the morning on the 7th it did not happen due to the Army taking control.

*Almost 800,000 bottles and cans of Alcohol were brought by the Govt to consume for the soldiers there is actual evidence for this in Punjabs Excise and Taxation records. It has being written in my accounts that they freely drank and smoked.

"*2500 Hath Likath Puratan Saroops were burnt by the Army"

I don't think we should accept this as fact, some sources indicate that the contents of the library were taken away in bags by the Indian army.

Unusually no panthic institution has taken this matter seriously, nobody really raises this issue during anniversary of operation bluestar. The SGPC, Akal Takht, Jatha, Taksal............entire Sikh Panth should persue this matter to find out the truth of what happened. If the Indian government still have puratan saroops and manuscripts they should be returned immediately.

Gupt1 jee

The fact is referenced from Amritsar: Mrs. Gandhi’s Last Battle, Tully, Mark and Jacob, (New Delhi, 1985)

Yes it is true items were taken away from Library and are held in undisclosed locations.

SGPC & Other prominent Gursikhs of that time and now have confirmed there was estimated 2500 Saroops, Gutka Sahibs, HukamNameh. At that time Talwara jee was doing major Khoj of Saroops he also has said there was around about that many Saroops.

That the library building was burnt is true because I saw thr burnt walls with my own eyes when I wad young. But at that time I had heard that they took away thr important documents to undisclosed locations. I think they took whatever they thought was historical and burnt the rest. I think I also heard they also took away very valuable jewels offered by maharajah ranjit singh.

Vista jee,

It is not action of burining of the library or number of saroops that I doubt. However as a Panth we should be very sceptical in accepting that all the saroops and puratan literature was destroyed by fire. There is a real possibility that the Indian government confiscated puratan saroops and other priceless items in bags before destroying the Sikh Reference library.

The SGPC and Akal Takht should demand a full investigation from Indian government into what happened to these puratan saroops.

From Wikipedia:

In 2003, Ranjit Nanda, a former inspector for the CBI, turned whistleblower and revealed he was part of a five member team which scrutinized the documents at the CBI's makeshift office at Amritsar's Youth Club.[1] He revealed that officials from his department were "desperately looking for a purported letter written by Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister, to Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale", and reported seeing letters from the other leaders addressed to Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale.[1] Manjit Calcutta, a former secretary of the SGPC, corroborated Nanda's version of events but further alleged that the army set the library "on fire in desperation when it failed to find the letter".[1] Nanda further confirmed the SGPC's version of events by describing how after inspecting each book and manuscript the CBI packed the documents into 165 numbered gunny sacks and bundled the material into waiting army vehicles because of a meeting of Sikh high priests taking place at the time.[1] He also showed a letter from his superiors commending his work "during examination of documents from SGPC ".[1]

On May 23, 2000 George Fernandes wrote to the SGPC Secretary, Gurbachan Singh Bachan, and acknowledged that the Indian Army had taken taken the books and other documents from the Sikh Reference Library and handed them over to the CBI.[3] He asked him to refer the matter to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, whose jurisdiction the CBI falls under.[3]

After the partition of Punjab many puratan saroops of Guru Granth Sahib were handed over to the SGPC and stored in Sikh Reference Library. One of the puratan saroops at the Sikh Reference Library was written by hazoori Sikh of Guru Gobind Singh jee, bhai Hardas jee, unfortunately this saroop and many others were either shaheed or taken away by Indian army during 1984 massacre.

Wahegury Ji Ka Khalsa,

Operation Bluestar totally dishonored our Sri Darbar Sahib ji's sanctity, thus Waheguru only knows what extreme beadbi they subjected our priceless Holy literature, upon looting all contents of library.
After reading above posts, especially looking at pure, sulakhna faces of 2 gem Saints, I humbly questioned Guru Maharaj in my heart what is the need for sacrifise of His Saints, beadbi to His Sri Darbar Sahib jio..and He gave me following reply in personal Hukamnama..
