During my first Sehaj Path, I came across following Sirlekh on ang 137
on referring MAHAN KOSH, i came to know that Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj had selected 9 of the Vaars, which were to be singed, as per the Dhunni or tones of Vaars on "old Yodheys and their Battles". Proper instruction of the Dhuuni's were given to Rababis and addresses of the original Dunni's of the Vaars were written in there Sirlekhs.
Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj had ordered his Dhadees to sing them. Some also say, these hukams of the "way of singing" were included by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maaharaj, but this is not true.
