Goal of this Site

The Admin team would like to thank all the readers of Gurmatbibek.com for their love and contribution. We have received feedback from many users and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We are very pleased to hear that this site has made a spiritual difference in lives of many readers. Nothing is more satisfying to us, than this.

The goal of this site, as written on the homepage, is to inspire everyone to adopt Gurmat Bibek, i.e., Gursikhi values. The greatest Hukam of Guru Sahib is to chant the True Naam. Ultimately, this is our goal and if this site does not inspire its readers to engage in Naam, to fall in love with Guru Sahib jee, and to keep Khalsa Rehit, then we would consider this project as a failure. However, if this site inspires its readers to adopt Gurmat, to love Guru Sahib jee, to chant the Gurmat Naam, and keep Khalsa Rehit, then we would consider our efforts as worthy.

Based on the feedback received from the readers of this site and discussions with many Gursikhs, the Admin team has come up with an Admin policy with respect to this discussion forum, that has the following points:

Spiritual Atmosphere

Readers have emphasized the need to ensure that the atmosphere of this site to be kept positive and productive. Many readers have said they feel spiritually uplifted in discussions on this forum because of the absence of negative behaviour such as animostiy, fights and allegations.

So far, with the exception of couple of minor instances, the spiritual atmosphere of this site has been retained. We request the readers to cooperate and help in building and maintaining Gurmat atmosphere on this site.

Gurmat Discussions

There is no need to bend over backwards to convince others to accept our viewpoint. We don’t encourage debates on controversial issues in Panth, that destroy our unity. Let’s celebrate the points that unite us.

Time to time, the Admins and other Gursikhs related to this site will present their vews based on their understanding. Polite discussions on the points where more clarification is required will be allowed but if the discussion is getting out of hand and tempers are soaring, the topics will be closed or locked.

Treating your fellow users

In the face of an opposing view, many times we resort to name calling or are generally less-polite. This is not inline with Gurmat. Gurmat teaches sweet talking and treating our fellow human beings with love and respect.

We humbly urge all our readers to not get agitated and to treat each other gently, respectfully and lovingly.

Advertising Events/programes

The Admin team after discussion has decided to not allow advertisements of any kind. There are many reasons for this. There are many sites where ads can be given. We feel that many times advertising events and programs of one organization offends some other organization and vice versa. For this reason, the Admin team prefers no announcement of any events and programs to be posted on this site.

About Panthic Organizations

There are many Panthic Organizations within the Panth and there are some differences in Maryada between these organizations. The Maryada can be discussed but an attack on any respectable Panthik organization or a respectable Panthik personality from the past or present time, will not be allowed. If the Maryada discussion gets out of hand, then such topics will be locked. For the most part, we discourage highlighting the differences and call for celebrating the points that unite us.

We urge everyone to cooperate and work in a united way, so that this website can play an important role in doing Parchaar of Gurmat and contribute towards the Chardi Kala of Khalsa Panth.

Based on the feedback received from the users of this messageboard, the Admin team has come up with the following guidelines in order to maintain the quality of the topics and messages posted here:

1. Topics that lack spiritual merit will not be approved. That does not mean any news, post or other important information about community will not approved but it means that frivolous and unnecessary topics will not be approved.

2. Messages containing personal attacks and unnecessary bickering over small issues etc. will be deleted or not approved at all. It is important to treat our fellow users with respect and love because it is the Hukam of Guru Sahib to do so.

3. Please don't get offended if a message of yours is not approved. We will let you know the reason if it is other than what mentioned above so that the same can be avoided in future. Although this will put extra burden on our moderator team but to maintain the Gurmat standards we will do our part at best and expect the same from our users.

As stated before, the idea behind starting this message board was to inspire others to adopt Gurmat Bibek i.e. adopt Gursikhi values, morals and Rehit along with engaging in Gurmat Naam Abhyaas and Gurbani Paath/Kirtan/Likhaayee. Last couple of weeks have witnessed that we slightly drifted away from our core principle of spreading Gurmat spirituality.

We humbly request all users to be vigilant and contribute in such Gurmukhi positive manner so that whoever reads our messages should be inspired to become better Gursikh.
