A very striking Shabad of Bhagat Kabir jee appears on Ang 328 (Raag Gauri). Raag Gauri is the largest Raag in Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee and most Bhagat Baani too is in this Raag only (followed by Raag Asa and then Raag Bhairon):
ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤ ਸਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਕੈਸੇ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥1॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਬਧੈ ਸਨੇਹੁ ॥
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਰਸੁ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਨੇਹੁ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਹਨਿ ਸਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਜੀਅ ਅਪਨੈ ॥
ਸੋ ਰਮਯੇ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਸੁਪਨੈ ॥2॥
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸਉਪਿ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥
ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥3॥23॥Some great Gurmat principles are revealed in this Shabad of Bhagat Kabir jee. It seems like this Shabad has been addressed to a Pandit, as it is evident from the second Pankiti. A loose translation of this Shabad is as follows:
1st Stanza: How can a woman be Satee, without morality; O Pandit, think of this within your mind. Satee is such woman who is chaste, truthful and honest towards her husband.
Rahao Pankiti: How can you get love of your husband, without first having devotional love for Him. Same way, so long as one seeks worldly pleasures, one cannot get love of Vaheguru.
2nd Stanza: One who considers the Queen (Maya) as true or real in his mind, he can't meet Vaheguru even in a dream.
3rd Stanza: Only such woman can be classifed as a Suhaagan (good and virtuous spiritual wife of Vaheguru) who gives up body, mind, wealth and home i.e. one who loses attachment with one's body, mind, wealth and possessions like home.
Some spiritual secrets revealed in this Shabad are as follows:
1. Just as a woman cannot be a Satee without possessing good moral character, same way a person cannot be classified as a Gursikh if he or she does not possess high moral character. A Gursikh is truthful, honest, chaste and possesses other Gurmat related qualities. Today, we see that our Sikh youth in schools and colleges appears to be Gursikh but constantly falls in the trap of Kaam. It's one thing to have Kaamic feelings and then controlling them through Naam and Gurbani but when one acts on the Kaamic urges and makes illicit friendships with the members of opposite sex, then such person cannot be classified as a Gursikh; rather such person is a stain on Sikhi. Such person not only gets sin for indulging in Kaam but also incurs sin for giving bad name to Khalsa Panth and Guru Sahib. After becoming a Sikh, one should be very careful about one's moral character and not indulge in shameless online chat conversations with members of opposite sex. Many young males and females start of talking to opposite sex with good intentions but as they start talking in private they continue to get intimate and soon enough they develop feelings for each other and then from brother-sister relationship they change their relationship to that of boyfriend-girlfriend. It is best to not have any communication with members of opposite sex. Those who don't listen to this advice do so at their own peril and endanger their Sikhi. Then they are seen getting pesh at Samagams. Without Satt (moral character) one cannot be a Gursikh.
2. In order to receive love of Vaheguru, we first have to love Vaheguru from our heart. This love should be such that we should not long for worldly pleasures and the only pleasure we should be seeking is Vaheguru's love. A Gursikh who is thus motivated, always engages in Naam, Gurbani and helping others.
2. So long as a person feels the realness of Maya i.e. believes in the permanancy of this world and it's pleasures, that long such person cannot have even a dream of Vaheguru. Vaheguru is La-shareeq and does not like it when we love anything other than Him. So he only reveals Himself to us, if we reserve our mind, body and soul one hundred percent for Him.
3. Gurmukh is such who loses attachment of worldy possessions and seeks Vaheguru day and night. Everything that a Gurmukh does has a spiritual purpose. If there is no spiritual merit in a certain work, a Gursikh does not get indulged in such work.
Gurbani is Agam Agaadh Bodh.
