According to Gurbani the greatest gift in the world is Naam. On whom, Vaheguru gets pleased, he enables him to meet Satguru and on whom Satguru is pleased, he enables him to meet Vaheguru. Vaheguru is Gurprasaad which means that Vaheguru is met through the Satguru but Satguru too is met only when Vaheguru is pleased. The first step starts with Vaheguru getting pleased.
The greatest sign that Vaheguru is pleased with us is if we have met the Satguru. The first step in meeting Satguru jee is to get initiated by Satguru in form of receiving Khande Pahul i.e chhaking Amrit. At the time of Amrit Sinchaar we are blessed with naam. Then as we japp Naam, a state comes when we meet the Satguru in his spirit form i.e. jyot roop.
In my opinion, one has kirpa if:
1) One is an amritdhaari gursikh.
2) One keeps full rehit.
3) One gets up at amritvela and does abhyaas.
4) One feels the presence of Guru Sahib all the time.
Of course there are mystical states that one experiences after Naam Abhyaas, that signal that one is on the right track.
The ultimate kirpa is when one gets darshan of Choji Pritam Akal Purakh.
