Gurmukh couples perform an Ardaas before Guru Sahib for a Gurmukh child, before conceiving a child. This ensures that they get elevated souls and then it is the further duty of the Gursikh couples to nourish their child in Gurmat. Right from the time when the child comes in the womb, the couple does Paaths and Naam Simran for the child. Then when the child is born, the Gurmukh couples try their best to keep full Rehit of the Gursikh child.
Many times it is seen that the parents eat only Bibeki food but let their children eat non-Bibeki food. This in a way, shows that the parents don't have faith in Bibek. The idea of Bibek is that the non-Bibeki food is detrimental to us and if we really believe in this, then how can we allow our children (who are so precious to us) to eat such food that has been declared as poison, in Gurbani?
