There are two ways: An easy one and a difficult one. Its human mind's general tendency to try the easier one.
Most of the time people tend to choose the easier option in Rehat. Like in case of Sarabloh Bibek, lot of people will give example of mahapurakhs from various sampradaswho attained high avastha but did not keep sarabloh bibek rehat. Same is true about the Keski rehat.
Daas believe same applies to this thread and issue of kanthagar kirtan as well. As soon as a poster posts about the importance of the kanthagar kirtan, we post a counter argument like 'Bhai Randhir Singh ji's photos had Amrit Kirtan on harmonium'. Daas wanted to point out that if a Gursikh is promoting a rehat which will help in uplifting our avastha, we should try to adopt it rather than use our brains to find ways of rejecting it. We do not know why the pothi was there. Even if it was there has anyone seen it open on the vaaja while Bhai sahib himself was doing kirtan?
No one can deny the importance of doing Gurbani kanth. The more bani you have kanth, the more it helps in being able to recite that bani as and where you wish, without the need to look for pothis. Daas has found that while doing kirtan if the shabad is read from Amrit kirtan while playing harmonium and trying to ask sangat to find out so and so shabad it breaks your surti. If the kirtani has the shabad kanth the kirtan flow can continue unbroken without any need to look for pothis. At Darbar Sahib not a single ragi singh opens pothi. All kirtan is done kanthagar. If the professional ragi's can do this what stops us from doing the same for pyar of Guru sahib.
Everyone of us on this forum should be promoting doing kanthagar kirtan as much as possible.
