who started the sounds of ਧ ਢ ਭ!

Posted by sikh.learner
I was doing some reading on Punjabi language. Guru Nanak Sahib jee did the Parkash of Gurmukhi Lipi. But I was reading that Punjabi language is much older.
So who invented/started the sounds of ਧ ਢ ਭ?
Did king porus speak punjabi ?

King Porus surely spoke Punjabi since he was a Punjabi (from Pakistani Punjab) but the language he spoke was the ancient Punjabi. As for the alphabets ਧ ਢ ਭ, these have been there for as long as Punjabi has been there. Guru Sahib just gave these sounds the alphabets. Guru Sahib gave us the Gurmukhi lipi. Before Gurmukhi, there were some other scripts used for writing Punjabi and with the advent of Muslims, Punjabi was also written in Shahmukhi script (Arabic script) but by far, the most suited script for writing Punjabi is Gurmukhi.

ਧ ਢ ਭ are beautiful sounds and thats why God in the form of Guru Nanak Sahib choose these sounds to write His Bani.

Cheers to the king/community who invented these sounds. Punjabi is SO MITHI AND SWEET.
Telling a joke in punjabi makes that joke so good. Comic timing in punjabi is so so superior as compared to other languages.
