Word ਲੇਂਡੀ in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib!

Word ਲੇਂਡੀ comes in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib 2 times. First time it comes in Charitarr 21 of Charitropakhyan and second time it comes in Charitarr 102 of Charitropakhyan.

According to Missionaries(Maha-NINDAKS), the word ਲੇਂਡੀ in the below tukk from Charitarr 21 means woman. (According to Panthic Singhs, the word ਲੇਂਡੀ means coward person).

ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਸੌ ਨੇਹੁ ਛੁਰੀ ਪੈਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ॥ ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਕੇ ਭਜੇ ਕਾਲ ਬ੍ਯਾਪਯੋ ਤਨ ਮਾਨਹੁ ॥ ਅਧਿਕ ਹਰੀਫੀ ਜਾਨਿ ਭੋਗ ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜੋ ਕਰਹੀ ॥ ਹੋ ਅੰਤ ਸ੍ਵਾਨ ਕੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਾਥ ਲੇਂਡੀ ਕੇ ਮਰਹੀ ॥੫੩॥

Now, the word ਲੇਂਡੀ comes again in Charitarr 102 and it is VERY VERY CLEAR that its meaning is coward person.
The meaning of the tukk with word ਲੇਂਡੀ in it is "When the Jodha(warrior) roars, ਲੇਂਡੀ(coward person) runs away".

ਚਲੇ ਭਾਜਿ ਲੇਂਡੀ ਸੁ ਜੋਧਾ ਗਰਜੈ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਭੇਰ ਭਾਰੀਨ ਸੌ ਨਾਦ ਬਜੈ ॥ ਪਰੀ ਆਨਿ ਭੂਤਾਨ ਕੀ ਭੀਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ ਮੰਡੇ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਬਡੇ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੨੧॥

In early 1900s and earlier than that, the word ਜੁਲੂਸ was used for "procession" in positive spirit. Only in recent time there is so much ਕੂੜ got into people's mind that word ਜੁਲੂਸ is perceived as something very sinful and negative. Same is the case with other words of olden times.

As long as one does not study history, context and origins of words, their ਕਪੋਲ ਕਲਪਨਾ will lead them to astray.
