This Pankiti has to do with the kind of clothes rich and fashionable women in olden days used to wear. Once one of his 4 daughters, perhaps Zebunissa, was wearing very thin clothes which were exposing her body and citing this Aurangzeb scolded her. At this Zebunissa replied that she was wearing 7 layers of clothes but still her body could be seen because these 7 layers of clothes were made of Dhaka silk a very thin and fine clothing, so much so, that a female dress made of this fabric could fit in a matchstick box. In today's world, people, especially women, have started wearing very less clothes in order to show their bodies and they do it out of ਗਰਬਿ i.e. pride and ego. They are proud of their bodies and like to expose to other in order to be popular and acceptable to maximum people but Guru Sahib in this Pankiti has made it very clear that such people who wear exposing clothes do so out of pride and are stupid (Gavaar).
