Bhai Gurdas Jis writings and Grammar

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh
According to Principal Teja Singh Ji , the writings of Bhai Gurdas Ji do not include the principles of Gurbani Viakaran. Was this done intentionally or perhaps where mistakes written when copying Bhai Sahib Jis writngs from the original writings?

Definitely because of mistakes while copying and writing the Vaars. The presence of grammar rules at many places is an indication that these rules were applied in this Baani.

Thank you Ji. Is this true for rehatname as well. For example in the following rehatnamey shouldn't the word "Sikh" have an aunkad, since the Hukum is referring to a kurehati Sikh in the singular sense.?

ਜੋ ਸਿਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਥੀ, ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨਾ ਸਿਖਾਏ, ਸੋ ਭੀ ਤਨਖਾਹੀਆ- Bhai Chaupa SIngh JI
ਪਾਗ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜੋ ਖਾਵੇ, ਸੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੁੰਭੀ ਨਰਕ ਸਿਧਾਵੈ। - Bhai Prahlad Singh JI

Yes, according to Gurbani viyakaran, the word Sikh in these verses should have aunkad in the end,

What about the following Hukum in Bhai Daya Singh Jis rehanama which was written during Visakhi ( 1699) time?

ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰ. ਪੰਚ ਜਨਨ ਤੇ ਭਾਗ

Shouldn't the word Guru be mukta because at the time this was written the term " Guru Granth " was not in vogue hence the meaning must mean Guru Da Granth ( sambandh karak)?

Notice that ਗੁਰੂ has dulankay in the end and not an aunkad. A noun ending with dulankay can be in Sambandh Kaarak Naav format.
