Waheguru,
Women in Punjab need to not wear too tight fitting outfits...even dastaar wearing Singhnis (relatives of Bhai Rajoana Singh, Bhai Jagtar Singh..) outfits so tight on chest..noticed from online photos
Guns should have been used in 1984, and not over women who were asking for wrong attention with their attire?

Although I agree that females should wear modest dress but the real problem lies somewhere else. The culture of shameless punjabi songs, Drugs & Sharab . It doesn't even end here, majority of youth is looking for boyfriend/girlfriend and they think its ok to touch a girl when no one is looking. When a girl resist they think *she doesn't literally mean it* . They don't realise that this is regarded as a molestation/ sexual exploitation in western countries. People of influence or belonging to political parties take advantage of their power and think think they ar outside boundaries of law.

Situation is real bad and there is only one cure to the problem. Most of the youth either trim beared or cut hair. Until there will be Sojhi of Gurmat Jeevan. Youth will always be astray. There is more Kur parchaar then real parchaar.

Parents of both girls and boys need to look at their own jeevan and need to shape their life as per Gurmat values. If this will not happen, the situation will not improve.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,
All Sikhs must read Guru Nanak Chamatkar, and Sri Kalgidhar Chamatkar to know our darling Guru never retaliated violently unecessarily..Guru Nanak Dev Jio was violently slapped by father and tearfully tolerated it..as His father failed to realise Guru Jio is the Lord he asked to come to him..yet let his ego blind Truth even after he received vision...likewise this paapi murakh believe despite so much sewa to Waheguru, like Guru Jio's father, we are so drowned in world around us..

Vaheguroo..

Bhenjee KSjeeo, even though the problem somewhat does lie in the modesty of clothes that not only girls but anyone wears. There is a bigger problem than that, as "maha paapi" veerjee has mentioned. In many cases of rape, girls are the ones who are blamed by the society. Instead of looking inside and comforting the pain these rape victims suffer both psychologically and physically, we as a "society" look down upon them, and start pointing out the reasons or our guesses on why these girls became victims. And sadly enough we blame the victim. There have been so many cases of Acid attacks in India, where girls who resisted lewd comments or abuse were attacked by acid thrown at their faces. Just recently a story about a similar incident became quite popular, and the people who threw the Acid are roaming freely. I think if the girl mentioned in this story was not "modest", she would have never complained to her father. Our media, movies, songs, everything is filled with garbage. The only cure that would work is the parchaar of Gurmat, and the whole society thinking of every girl and boy as their own children. As gursikhs we should learn to do that, we should fight for anyone who has been a victim of any sort of crime. And if this politician even had .0001% of an idea about Sikhee, he would have never harassed the girl in the first place, let alone picking up a gun to kill her father..
