I recently read an arth of this Tukh. While trying to show the mehma of how great Naam is the translation done of the tukh is:

What this arth is saying is that Vaheguru's naam is so great that it is even more ਊਚਾ than Vaheguru. Is this arth right?

What this arth is saying is that Vaheguru's naam is so great that it is even more ਊਚਾ than Vaheguru. Is this arth right

If this is so then it means that Vahegurus naam is different from Vaheguru.

Can this be so?

One can look at this quote from Gurbanee

One should try to understand the meaning of ਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ .

This does not make sense that Naam is greater than Vaheguru. Akal Purakh's Naam is greater than great i.e. very great.

Gurbani is Agam Agaadh Bodh.

This means that in this Quote the word ਊਚੇ is not the reference for Vaheguru .

One can see another similar Quote from Gurbanee as

It is thus clear that the meaning of ਊਚੇ ਉਪਰਿ ਊਚਾ or ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ is Greatest over Greats

The exact interpretation will depend on the reference meaning of the word

For nore clarity on the interpretation of the Quote as....

One can give a thinking to the reference of the word ਊਚੇ in the complete Quote
It becomes clear that the reference in the quote is ਤਿਸੁ ਊਚੇ

The reference ਤਿਸੁ ਊਚੇ is for Vaheguru,Akalpurakh .

Now one can understand the correct Arth of the Pankati

I find that the interpretation as mentioned by R Singh ji seems to be correct.

Bagga jee,

Does not necessarily have to refer to the same time everywhere that it is used. For example, if ਊਚੇ is always to mean Vaheguru then in the pankti ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ you are saying that Bhagvant is greater than Vaheguru. How silly is that? How can Vaheguru be greater than Vaheguru?

Also it is not sensible that Naam is greater than Vaheguru. Naam is of Vaheguru, and Naam is Vaheguru. There is no distinction. Naam and Naami are nirlep and one in the same.

The interpretation by Bhai Kulbir Singh seems to be most accurate.

PREETAM SINGH JI,

In one of my posts I have already made it clear as

The exact interpretation will depend on the reference meaning of the word
The reference for the word ਊਚੇ is for Vaheguru,Akalpurakh

Whereas in the Quote The reference for the word ਊਚੇ is not for Vaheguru/Akalpurakh

Refering to your views as
There is no distinction. Naam and Naami are nirlep and one in the same.

My views strongly differ here as. NAAMi and NAAMu are same for a SINGLE SPECIFIC WORD being refered as
SABADu other than word Vaheguru..I know this may appear different view to many. But one should try to understand
the real facts from Gurbanee.
