Daas was doing some research into the cheese making process. To make cheese you require an ingredient called rennet. Rennet can be from an animal source or a plant source. Obviously Gursikhs do not consume animals and opt always for vegetarian sources.

On the Wikipedia site it mentions microbial rennet and GM rennet are suitable for vegetarians so long as "no animal-based alimentation" was used during the production. So daas thinks it would be a good idea to contact the manufacturer of vegetarian rennet to confirm this.

Forget about pizza, and its sauce, choose sauce
and bread of Naam Waheguru, and don't pamper
your taste buds, which is maya's relative.
Waheguru's pizza, and sauce is like none othe when you then reach His home

It is possible to make pizza dough using baking powder instead of yeast. I do not remember the amount to put in but if you play around with the amount I am sure it will work. Enjoy your pizza smiling smiley

Here is a recipe that I used once to make pizza dough without yeast. It turned out a little bit different than normal pizza, but was still very filling.

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup salad oil
2 tablespoons salad oil

Directions:

1 Heat oven to 425°F.

2 Measure ingredients (except 2nd amount of salad oil) into a Sarbloh bata.

3 Stir vigorously until mixture leaves the side of the Sarbloh bata.

4 Gather dough together and press into a ball.

5 Knead dough in bowl 10 times to make smooth then divide dough in half.

6 On lightly floured surface roll each half into a 13-inch circle.

7 Place on Sarbloh pizza pan.

8 Turn up edges 1/2 inch and pinch.

9 Brush circles with remaining 2T of salad oil.

10 Add toppings and bake for 20-25 minutes or until it looks done.
