The understanding which Jai Dayv grasped, the understanding which permeated Naam Dayv,
the understanding which was in the consciousness of Trilochan and known by the devotee Kabeer,
by which Rukmaangad constantly meditated on the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny,
which brought Ambreek and Prahlaad to seek the Sanctuary of the Lord of the Universe, and which brought them to salvation



Can someone please explain who ਰੁਕਮਾਂਗਦ was? what's the sakhi behind this shabad?

It is hard to figure out whom Guru Sahib is referring to here. What's known about Rukmangad is not too detailed. Here is what is known about Rukmangad:

1. He was a Dharmi king who stayed away from indulging in Maya.

2. When he was a prince, he was once visiting a Rishi and there the beautiful wife of the Rishi tried to seduced him. He spurned her advances and she cursed him to be a leper. He did not budge from his righteous stand. Later on, Indra who was filled with lust for her, took the form of Rukmangad and had an affair with her.

3. According to Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha, Rukmangad's saakhi appears in the Naarad Puraan.
