1. Sehaj Paath is done from Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee's Saroop after doing full Ishnaan.

2. Yes, Ardaas is done before and after each Paath session.

3. Degh is prepared at the Aarambh of Paath and at Bhog.

4. Paath from Pothi too has great Mahatam but it's not called Sehaj Paath. One can call it Sadharan Paath.

Bhai Sahib Jio, without saying Yes or No to your query, Daas thinks this way, can we do Arambta and Bhog di Ardaas before laptop? Can we take Hukamnama from laptop? Furthermore think about this to do Kirpan Bhet to Degh before laptop? If answers are no to any of those then we should avoid. If someone says let's do all these before Guru Sahib then later do paath from laptop then my question to them is if one thinks this Maryada should be done before Guru Sahib then what happens to reading Maryada which is also important Where as Gurbani on laptop is good aid for practicing Shudh uchaaran/memorizng but we should not forget that only Sri "GRANTH" Jee are our Guru Sahib and Sadaran/Akhand Paath

If you want to read from the laptop that is fine as normal - but it cannot be called sehaj paath as that has traditions and protocol as per rehat maryada as mentioned above.

This is absolutely true, but don't let this discourage you! Reading Gurbani is "ouch veechar"! You can continue to read from laptop until you don't get the saroop of Shiri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

If you have a gurdwara sahib close by, you can do your sehaj paath on the tabya, where there is prakash. Locally here in CA, I've seen that the sevadaars are kool if you want to do sehaj paath in the after noon, when there is no program.

Nevertheless, reading Gurbani is always "laha-ful", regardless of where it is recited.

Bhul Chukh Maaf.
