This is absolutely true, but don't let this discourage you! Reading Gurbani is "ouch veechar"! You can continue to read from laptop until you don't get the saroop of Shiri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.
If you have a gurdwara sahib close by, you can do your sehaj paath on the tabya, where there is prakash. Locally here in CA, I've seen that the sevadaars are kool if you want to do sehaj paath in the after noon, when there is no program.
Nevertheless, reading Gurbani is always "laha-ful", regardless of where it is recited.
