Learning Kirtan

With increasing commercialisation of kirtan seva, every Gursikh should try and learn doing kirtan seva. Even who have never touched harmonium or tabla before atleast should resolve to learn one shabad. Imagine if we had everyone in the sangat doing 1 shabad each who will need professional kirtanis. Anand of such kirtan which is nishkaam and without any greed of money/fame will be blissful.

Gurmat Bibek took a big step forward to provide a clean forum to discuss the aspects of Gurmat bibek and gursikhi jeevan. It will be excellent if a section on this website can be dedicated to the promotion of learning Kirtan which daas believes is must for every Gursikh.

I totally agree with this post. Learning Kirtan is very important in rising spiritually. All aspects of Gurmat should be focussed on. Doing Paath of Gurbani, Kirtan of Gurbani, writing Gurbani are all important aspects of Gurmat and a Gursikh should strive to get skilled in all of them.
