Under the Great Banyan Tree,
The Singhs sat
During the 18th century, on a large mat
Under the tree, they carried out their chat
this wads their hideout, when they chased down every mughal brat

Under the Great Banyan Tree, the Singh greeted
Amrit Sanchaars were carried out, and Rehat, nobody cheated
there was Great Love between the Gursikhs, and everybody's presence was always felt needed

'Chey Chaparr', as it was nicknamed
whoever entered, became a Gurmukh Swan from a crane
the Singhs had tied themselves to the Naam Roopi Chain
they did not ever think about wasting a single Gurbaani Roopi Grain

Under the Great Banyan Tree, the Singhs sat
all if them were fit, not a single was fat
All of them were Lions, not a mughal cat
Each one of them was blessed, and they al received Guru Mahaaraaj's pat

the Great Banyan Tree continues to grow
The Singhs are still there, guarding it row by row
even though centuries have passed, there is no stopping to the flow
No force could tear down Chey Chaparr, whether a hurricane or a wind blow
Under the Great Banyan Tree the Singhs sat...

That was very thoughtful, Parmahansa jeeo. Some very profound thoughts...

As a side note, the banyan tree you are referring to above is or was in Bikaner Rajasthan, correct? When they were hunting down Singhs in Punjab, many Singhs had gone to Bikaner. This is where, the Gurmata to punish Massa Rangad was passed and this is where from, Bhai Sukha Singh and Bhai Mehtab Singh left for Siri Amritsar Sahib to punish Massa.
