Many things in Gurmat appear in fives. Is there any particular reason for this?

There is great significance of 1 too:

Onkaar is 1.

Guru is 1.

Gurbani is 1.

Naam Gurmantr is 1.

Panth is 1 (other Panths, we don't recognize).

Maya is 1.

Same way, there is significance of all digits.

Bhai Upkaar Singh, I believe the more proper arth for that Gurbani Tukh would have panch to mean gurmukh/sant and not 5. Although I have heard Sant Kartar Singh do translation of this ukh where panch means 5. 5 nitnem banian are parvan in dargah, and punj pyareh are pardhan (I think thats how it went). Sangat's thoughts?

Waheguru JI Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

Interesting thread however as Bhai Kulbir Singh Jee mentions significance is in all digits, here is a few more:

3 - cornered flag of Khalsa - only one in the world indicating raaj of Dhan Guru Nanak in three worlds including maat, pataal loks

3 - 3 Vaars were allowed by Pandee Khan by Dhan Guru Hargobind Singh Jee miri piri Patsha sodhee sultan

There were numerous time the Khalsa has allowed 3 vaars on from the enemy before finally taking attack on the enemy with a vaar.

3 - refers to Treebhavan -- in Gurbani -

3- trebhenee - at the beautiful Guru Ka Lahore Gurdwarra created by 10th Guru Gobind Singh Jee

secondly not Bhagheen Jeeo your reference to 2 Sikhs is so relevant and so prevalaent in history past and present -- massively - perhaps because
where Guru Sahiban uttered - jithee 2 utthee 11 hae -- 2 is enough for sangat i.e husband and wife - encouraged to do abhihas, banis together.
