According to my humble understanding, the above meanings are not in accordance to Gurbani Viyakaran. The word ਮਨਿ has a Sihaari here and this Sihaari means ਮਨ ਵਿਚ and the meaning of the Pankiti is - I don't wish for Raj or Mukti, let love (preet) for Charan Kamal (Lotus Feet) always reside in my Mann (Mann vich).

To derive the meaning your friend has suggested, Chatrik jeeo, the spellings of mann should be ਮਨੁ (Karta Kaarak Naav) and not ਮਨਿ (Adhikaran Kaarak Naav).

Gurbani is Agam Agaadh Bodh jeeo.

Interesting thing is Guru Sahib clearly rejected two padaraths out of 4 described in hinduism here ie Raj and Mokash. other 2 , Pakhand dharam and Kamna are rejected as well. "dharam karam paakhand jo deese tis jam jagati loote" and kamna is rejected in Sri dasam Granth as well " kamna adheen kaam krodh main parbeen ek bhavna baheen kese bhete parlok ko" and "kamna adheen sada damna parbeen ek bhavna baheen kaise pave jagdeesh ko" .So what are the char padarths then??? I think above padaraths are related to maya thats why guru sahib has rehected it.

Padaraths that are mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib are:

Gian
sach
Dhian/prem ( dhian comes out of prem for gursikhs but prem without gian is blind so prem comes out of gian and when we combine all these then we get blessed with naam and then finally saach )

All these padarths are mentioned in this shabad and guru sahib has told us how to get these padaraths as well.

As mentioned in above gurvaak, all these padarths are blessed when we comes in the sharan of guru sahib ji. Otherwise whole world is lost in maya roopi padaraths.
