aarti and kirtan sohila?

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh
In Kirtan Sohila we recite
ਤਿਸ ਦੈ ਚਾਨਣਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

but in aarti it is written as
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਚਾਨਣਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

Is this a typo in aarti or is there is a significance between
the difference?

Vaheguru!

There is a few subtle difference between the 2 pauriya in Aarti and Sohila Sahib. One which u have spotted. Another being in Sohila Sahib "har charan kaval makara(n)dh lobhith mano anadhinuo mohi aahee piaasaa ||" and in Aarti "har charan kamal makara(n)dh lobhith mano anadhino mohi aahee piaasaa ||"
The other slight difference is in Aarti "krapaa jal dhaehi naanak saari(n)g ko hoe jaa thae thaerai naam vaasaa ||4||1||7||9||" and in Sohila Sahib "krapaa jal dhaehi naanak saari(n)g ko hoe jaa thae thaerai naae vaasaa ||4||3||"
As to why there are some difference daas does not have any gyaan to answer but hopefully some of the blessed souls on this forum could shed some light on it smiling smiley

Sukhdeep Singh jeeo, the two Panktees appear on completely different Angs in Siri Guroo Granth Sahib jee Mahaaraaj. Just like how they are two diferrent versions of "SoDar", one appears in Siri Japjee Saaheb, and one Rehraas, and they both their respective spelling differences, so do
these two Panktees. It's just Guroo Saaheb kee Charnaa Kee Mauj, it's Guroo Saaheb's Marzee. Whether that means they know why are why not, that I'm not sure about. Perhaps, Bhai Kulbir Singh jee can enlighten us here.

Daas,
Jaspreet Singh

There are 4 differences all together, the final one being:

Aarti: sehas thav nain nan nain hai thohi ko sehas moorath nanaa eaek thohee ||
Sohila: sehas thav nain nan nain hehi thohi ko sehas moorath nanaa eaek thuohee ||
