Why God creates Universe?

Actually i want to know, what is the reason behind to create 84 Lakh ( Junes) on our earth planet ?

to punish the evil(paapi's).

to punish the sinners? or maybe to give us poor sinners another chance? christians believe god puts sinners in hell for eternity. surely god is merciful because he only consigns us to life as an animal or tree, and because that life is mortal we may get another chance at another life in the future.

in the end though, only waheguru knows why he does what he does.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਰਚਨਾ ॥੨॥
O Nanak, the Creator alone knows the workings of His creation. ||2||

Nanak: for whom should we mourn, O Baba? This world is merely a play.

ਕੀਤਾ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
The Lord Master beholds His work, and contemplates His creative potency.

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਧਾਰਣ ਧਾਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
He contemplates His creative potency, having established the Universe. He who created it, He alone knows.

ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਬੂਝੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
He Himself beholds it, and He Himself understands it. He Himself realizes the Hukam of His Command.

ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
He who created these things, He alone knows. His subtle form is infinite.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਾਬਾ ਰੋਈਐ ਬਾਜੀ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੋ ॥੪॥੨॥

god creates the universe to unit the different cultures and prospects of each culture !!
and so that the every human being can face the challenges that await for them in the universe god has created!

Because god can and 'he' wants to sit back and watch the play...

the universe is a game of vaheguru.

The game is:
In satjug he creted many good people and less bad he wanted to see who would win eventually.
In tretajug he created about 75% good and the other bad.
In duaprejug he created 60% good and the other bad.
In kaljug he created 35% good and the other bad.


Now in satjug,tretajug, duaprejug, the good won
but now in kaljug the good are losing, vahaguru wants to see who eventually wins.!!!!!!!!!

The purpose of making the world is that guru sahib is testing us. whatever we do in this birth records for the next birth if we do bad things in this birth we have to suffer for the next birth.
this is guru sahibs play.
guru sahib knows more.

I have to say, I too have wondered about this question many times. But if you think about it, would knowing how the Universe came to be make a difference in one's life? Would it make it any better/worse?
It's agreed that our human capabilities cannot answer such questions, so some rely on science, others ask other people for opinions. No one knows. It's He who created it that knows. What will knowing do for us?
Trust Guru Sahib. For He only does what's right for us. (I think we can actually say this for many other things as well!)
