Disabled visitor to Gurdwara Sahib

We have recently been engaged with our local library to bring Non sikh library members to the Gurdwara Sahib. The response has been amazing and it helps a lot to be able to share the beauty of Gurmat dharm with others.

For an upcoming visit we have recieved a request from the visit organiser about a bibi who is very keen to come for darshan. She is physically disabled and uses wheel chair. Also she wears surgical boot which she can't take off for medical reason. Daas finds it very hard to say no to someone but again how do we keep the maryada intact as well. The darbar hall is closed with one entrance only and there is no Glass panel to allow someone stay there and watch from outside so it has to be either in or not.

Looking for views of gursikhs on the board on an urgent basis as we need to reply to this Bibi by tomorrow. Can Bhai Kulbir Singh and others advise please?

Daas's humble opinion:

Definately she can come in because it is not her fault. She wants to gain Laha. Why not?

I don't think that should be a big problem.

At our Gurdwara we have an Amritdhaari Singh who comes in with wheel chair. He doesn't really go to the front like we go to do mathaa teknaa. He stays away like at a distance of maybe 10 or 15 metres to Guru Sahib Ji and does Namaskaar from there, so that the carpets don't get durty because of the wheels of his wheel-chair.

I think in such cases we have to practical.

Bhul chuk maaf.

May be after getting the visible dirt and dust cleaned from the boot and wrappping/covering it with a cloth; she can be in the Sangat. I second Damandeep Singh Ji.

if she's wheelchair bound, it's unlikely her "boot" is getting dirty, since she's not walking on the dirty ground with it. seems like it would be ok.

Vjkk Vjkf.
Maybe the Gurduwara can buy a wheelchair that stays in the Gurduwara all the time, that way the wheels wont be dirty. Or if the person is in a condition where he/she can't move from one chair to another, a sevak can clean the wheels outside of the hall then let the person in.
