Gaj Mrig Meen Patang Al Eikat Eikat Rog Pachange,

Manas Dehi Panch Rog Panche Doot Kasoot Karande.

Bhai Gurdaas Jee says that: Elephant, Deer, Fish, Moth and Black bee,
all have one disease each, due to which they fall prey :

An Elephant is attracted towards a female elephant (ie. Kaam Ras). Its
poachers use this shortcoming by luring the giant animal towards a
paper made female elephant to trap it.

A Deer is attracted towards music (ie. Kan Ras). Its poachers use a
special drum and when they play it, the deer is lost in the music, thus
falling prey and losing its life.

A Fish is attracted towards meat (ie. Zubaan Ras). Fishermen hang a
small piece of meat at the end of their hook. The fish comes to eat the
same and hence finds itself trapped.

A Moth is attracted towards light/flame (ie. Netra Ras). It is charmed
by any light source and surrenders to it, even if it means its ultimate
demise.

A Black Bee (Bhawra) is attracted towards fragrance (ie. Sugandh Ras).
It sits on a rose and is lost in its fragrance. It doesn't even notice
that at sunset, the rose closes and it is trapped in the flower.

But what about a human, who has all these five ailments/diseases, and
these make him disturbed/unsettled. A human is driven by Kaam Ras, Kan
Ras, Zubaan Ras, Netra Ras and Sugandh Ras.

Bhai Gurdaas Jee further calls Aasa (hopes) and Mansa (desires)
witches, which further aggravate these ailments/diseases. Manmukhs (who
follow their hearts and live life in duality) are troubled by these,
and those who come in Guru's Sangat and follow Shri Guru Granth Sahib's
path are saved.

Bhulan Chukan Di Khima,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
