truth about Krishan

Many people including many misguided sikhs consider Krishan to be a great Vishnu Avataar. The sikhs needs to know the truth about Krishan and what is the status of Krishan in Sikh Faith. Before going to Krishan, let us see what Sri Guru Granth Sahib says about Vishnu.

ਐਸੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਕ ਰਾਮਿ ਉਪਾਈ ॥
Such is Maya, the woman, which the One Lord has created.

ਉਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
She is devouring the whole world, but the Guru has saved me, O my Siblings of Destiny. ||Pause||

ਪਾਇ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੋਹਿਆ ॥
Administering her poisons, she has overcome the whole world.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਮੋਹਿਆ ॥
She has bewitched Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

ਸਰਪਨੀ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਬਲੀਆ ॥
No one is more powerful than the she-serpent Maya,

ਜਿਨਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਛਲੀਆ ॥1॥
who deceived even Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. ||1||

THE ABOVE TUKKS CLEARLY MENTION THE FACT THAT VISHNU IS BEWITCHED AND DECEIVED BY MAYA.

Now lets see what Gurbani says about Vishnu Avatar Krishan

1. Krishan's amorous play with Gopis

2.Krishan made people call him Brahm(God)

ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਜੋ ਆਨਿ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਦਸਕੁ ਅਸੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਘਾਏ ॥
What then, if on coming into the world, one(Krishan) killed about ten demons;

ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਸਭਨ ਕਹ ਆਪਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਹਾਏ ॥੧॥
And displayed several phenomena to all and caused others to call Him Brahm (God).1.

3. Krishan could not escape the mighty Kaal

ਜਿਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਹੁਇ ਬਿਸਨ ਆਏ ॥ ਤਿਤਿਓ ਕਾਲ ਖਾਪਿਓ ਨ ਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਘਾਏ ॥੨੮॥
All the incarnations of Vishnu like Rama and Krishan were destroyed by KAL, but they could not destroy him. 28.

4. Krishan drowned in the world ocean

ਤੇ ਸਰਬ ਕਾਲ ਕੇ ਅਸਿ ਕੋ ਘਾਇ ਬਚਾਇ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥੨॥
Who could not save himself from the wound-causing sword of mighty Death.2.

ਕੈਸੇ ਤੋਹਿ ਤਾਰਿ ਹੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਜੜ ਆਪ ਡੁਬਯੋ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ॥
O fool ! listen, how can he cause you to cross the dreadful ocean of Sansara (world), when he(Krishan) himself is drowned in great ocean?

5. Krishan is called KEET(worm) in Gurbani

ਕਿਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸੇ ਕੀਟ ਕੋਟੈ ਬਨਾਏ ॥ ਕਿਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੇ ਮੇਟਿ ਡਾਰੇ ਉਪਾਏ ॥
Somewhere He hath created millions of the worms like Krishna. Somewhere He hath effaced and then created (many) like Rama.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Mythological Gods of Indian origin, referred to in Gurbani, are always a subject of discusion. No body knows the truth. People worship them and we do not. But, it is always genuine and logical; to respect the faith of others. If a big section of our society, finds God in them; we are supposed to respect their feelings. Guru Amardaas Ji, is recorded to be a Devi Bhagat, before coming to Guru Angad Dev Ji. It shows His quest for Truth. Millions have been trying to find God in these "Gods of Mythology".

By quoting some of the pankities from Gurbani, (which speak about the incompetitiveness of other faiths) and ignoring the pankities, (which speak about the genuineness of those misguided devotions of millions), we are simply deceiving our ownself.

So, the above said is only Half Truth, at the most. The other half needs to be discussed. And only after discussing all those Gurbani Shabads, we can know the Gurbani View.

We should desist from such acts of slandering. Others may not be, but we are Godly people.

ਸਤਜੁਗਿ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਛਲਿਓ ਬਲਿ ਬਾਵਨ ਭਾਇਓ ॥

from my limited understanding... one of the purposes of sri dasam granth sahib is to round out our knowledge of hindu mythology. so while guru granth sahib jee has made references to such devi/devtas and their myths, guru sahib did not elaborate on these stories at the time, instead using them as individual examples, sometimes showing them as great bhagats, sometimes showing their ego, and other times showing them as an examples of the misguided direction of those who worship them.

many sikhs of guru sahib's time came from hindu backgrounds. they knew and understood the mythology of the devi/devtas guru sahib had mentioned. but by the time guru gobind singh sahib jee created the khalsa, sikhs had been born from sikh families. even muslims had become sikhs. it makes sense that at this time, guru sahib would write the TRUTH about these myths himself, in gurmukhi, so sikhs would never again be dependent on pandits for learning.

Veer jee,
I am not stopping hindus from worshipping krishan. I did not post this on a hindu website. I just want to clear the sikh stand on Vishnu and his incarnations. A large majority of our preachers and sant babas suffer from GHULLAAAM budhi and in order to please the majority hindu kaum, they use the words like " krishan bhagvan jee dvapar de avatar ne te guru nanak dev jee kaliyug de avataar ne". A large majority of sikh community has been ruined by this parcher and they fail to realize that Guru Nanak Dev Jee is GURU OF ALL THE 4 YUGGS AND NOT JUST KALIYUG.
I am not trying to do character assasination of Krishan. He was a vishnu avatar, was a beautiful child, killed evil kans, helped his poor friend sudaama but he made mistakes too. He did kaamic activites with gopis, made people worshipped him. Basically krishan was deceived by haumme and maya.

Veer Ji, before proceeding further in your point of view, you are kindly requested to explain the Gurbani Shabad posted earlier. Secondly, you are requested to go through all the positive references and explain those.

I have already explained about the bhattan de svaiye u quote everytime.
That shabad is in praise of Satguru Nanak Dev jee.
Guru Nanak Dev jee is the Guru form of Vaheguru and has been Guru since creation. It was Guru jee' shakti what worked through vishnu avataars of previous yuggs.
The facebook created is not against any religion. Its about what Gurbani says about vishnu avataar Krishna.
Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee is his books has clearly written that aanmati books and aanmati avataars are limited to trai-gunn maya. So should we ban Bhai Sahib's books ?????
