Walking

Passing my days in a deadened state, I long to walk towards my fate
I met my Guru, now I know, the hour's getting late

My world is grey and lifeless till you shower it with your rung
Tasteless, until your sweet amrit runs down my tongue
Melody-less until your praise is sung,
pointless until I throw myself at your feet and mang

I walked through life searching, I cried out for a sign
I choked under the dull greyness
I questioned your presence sublime
Lost and dazed and tired, I grasped at empty air
Until my Guru found me, and pulled me in with love and care

He taught me, and I know now, the source of my dull pain
I was just another wanderer, lost in your Great Game
Guroo, Guroo, Guroo, I've been blessed with your sweet name
To meet my piara preetam, that is my one aim

So I pass through my days, in a deadened state
I pretend that I am moving, but all I do is wait
In anxiety, anticipation, I fear my final fate
all I want is you love... why am I so afraid?

My world was dead and lifeless, now I've learned to cry
my tears are sweet with nectar, love, coloured in your dye
I walk dead through life, I'm waiting, for my final fate
I met my Guru, now I know, the hour's getting late

The hour's getting late, but open is Guru's gate. He's merciful and since he has accepted us as His Sikhs, He will fulfill His responsibility of getting us across. Let's patiently wait for our turn. Our turn will surely come. Otherwise, we would not have been blessed with Amrit.

sisters rejoice,
my guru is great.
if we cry together,
it can never be too late.
in the congregation
we can meet our true fate.
come join me sisters,
let this be the date.

we will sing till the tears run out,

we will sing till our voices can go no more

we will sing till preetam jee gives us his darshan

and still we will sing
the unsung melodies
in complete bliss
in compete surrender.

Waking early for his beloved Guru
he was actually walking to his beloved Guru

His heart was burning for that divine song
he was walking to that which the heart wanted all along
There was no reason for listening to the useless sounds of the flute and gong
Listening to the the divine song he woke his mom

Mother, I have not even taken my morning shower
yet you invited my musical friends in the nectar giving hour
Mother replied " what I did not hear the door bell ring,
I have not invited anybody over to sing"

He said then where is the divine music coming from that sounds so sweet.
Mother replied " Crazy boy go back to sleep! "
The pure praises were being sung without a duballa beat.
The divine praises gave strong feelings to grasp the Gurus holy feet.

Was it divine kirtan his ears could hear
He started to doubt his feelings that he could not share
Skeptical of his experience he washed his face
he did not understand the Gurus Grace.
