ਜੋ ਸਰਬਤ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਵਧੀਕੀ ਆਪ ਕਰੇ, ਸੋ ਤਨਖਾਹੀਆ

Those Sikhs that do not abide by the decisions of the "majority", and exert their own opinions regard them as an apostate

Lately Ive been wondering why our political system in Sikhi seems to be so weak. People can get away with anything and face no consequences. For example , one can slander Dasmesh Pita Jis bani and walk away scott free. Take the infamous Raagi ( Darshan Sinh) for example , all this time hes been preaching manmat and he still hasnt been completely ex-communicated. As a panth we have become so divided and isolated from one another that people engage in durmat because they feel no loss to be isolated from the panth.

In the past, if a Sikh committed a misconduct he/she was isolated from the panth and such Veymukhs felt they were completely in hell being apart from the sangat. Because being in the sangat felt like Sach Khand. But nowadays nobody really gets this sense of loss because the sangat is already isolated from each other. We are a lawless and leaderless nation.

Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj has created a perfect system for us to follow in which I like to view it as democracy of the deathless. In the West, the father of Democracy Aristotle mentioned that a true democracy is a Government that is managed by the people from the people. In the past only the wealthy/aristocratic classes could govern. Aristotle believed everybody should learn to govern and take part in Governance. According to Aristotle such a measure would create an enlightened society. What Aristotle imagined , Dasmesh Pita Ji created in 1699!

When Guru Sahib selected the Panj Pyaarey he did so because of their obedience and virtue. Guru Sahib could have easily denied any of the Panj to become part of the Panj Pyaarey and lead the panth. Guru Sahib did not take their social or economical status into account. Guru Sahib only determined them by their character, deeds, and virtuous qualities. Most of all the Singhs were ready to die thats why I believe Guru Sahib chose them as leaders. Being fearless of death was the main virtue that made a Singh acceptable in Guru Jis eyes. Sikh Democracy was not a mobocracy in which everyone has a say and the majority opinion wins. Instead Sikh democracy consist of obedience to the wise decision of the deathless. The decision of the deathless body was the voice of the whole panth ( sarbat Khalsa). Those selected to serve as the deathless body did so because Gurus sangat chose them. For this reason Panj Pyaarey were the complete Khalsa, and their leadership was considered supreme. Not anybody would be accepted for this duty. Only those willing to die. Throughout history we have examples in which Guru Sahib sent Five Singhs out into battle in which they became shaheed and replaced with another 5 Singhs. They were always active on the move, and their seva was temporary. This way everybody had the opportunity to do seva. But now it seems as though the Panj Pyaarey has become a fixated position in which idle Singhs sit and discuss things when being pressured by the panth. They are not active in establishing laws and programs that will strengthen the panth.

One is a Sikh, two the Congregation and in five resides God.

It seems like the status of Panj Pyaarey is not considered as a miri-piri political force. Many think that Panj Pyaareys duty is to only give Amrit, and leadership should come from crooked " Babey and Politicians". The Panj Pyaarey should be selected by the GurSangat and their decisions should be regarded as the Gurus decisions. Anybody who does not obey these decisions should be regarded as an apostate. Even if the decision does not seem right. Guru Sahib never questioned the decision of the Panj.
