A Bhujangi and a bully

Yesterday, we as a family met a 9 years old Bhujangi who was wearing full Dastaar. Normally you see kids at this age, now a days, wearing a Patka. His mother told us that since he was born his hair were cut. It seemed like his family did not know much about Sikhi. As this kid grew up, he started resisting cutting of his hair. Eventually, couple of years ago, he firmly stopped his family from cutting his hair.

He was always very eager to go to Gurdwara Sahib and couple of months ago, he took Amrit. Now he is the only Amritdhari at his home. After Amrit-Chhak, he started wearing full size Dastaar to school. He's a little shy at school and is the only kid who wears a Dastaar. Another kid, a bully, had been teasing and mocking him ever since he started wearing Dastaar. The young Bhujangi kept patience for some time. One day, the bully said something negative about the Dastaar, that really hurt the Bhujangi Singh. The Bhujangi became very emotional. It was as if Guru Sahib was sitting on his Rasna (tongue) and he said to the bully, "Do you love your mother?"

The bully was taken aback at the changed tone of the Bhujangi and he replied, "Of course!"

"How would you feel if I said something bad about your mother?"

The bully boy muttered something unaudible. The Bhujang Fauj continued, "My Dastaar is as dear to me as your mother is to you. It hurts me just as much when you talk bad about my Dastaar, as it would hurt you if I said something about your mother."

The bully was shocked and could not say anything in return but he complained to the teacher lying that the Bhujangi had said something bad about his mother. The Bhujangi was given a warning but the bullying stopped since then.

If Guru Sahib is on our side, nothing can hurt us. This Bhujangi has a potential to become a Great Singh. Guru Sahib kirpa karan.
