How We Carry our Head
The curious man said " What is that on your head"
She Said its how I carry my Head!
He then replied I dont understand.
She responded I carry my head on the palm of my hand.
I dont care for fashion or the latest designer brand.
My Guru Gives life to the dead
for this reason I have offered my head.
So this Dastar I proudly wear
I dont care if the public stare
I carry my head on the palm of my hand.
My life is protected by Baba Nanaks hand

Underneath this top-knot bun exists the 10th gate
It is important that everyday the uncut hair is given a shower
because within this holy hair exists immense power.
Within this hair resides the wonderful Name
Without respect of the uncut hair one only gains shame.
Thus it is essential one ties their hair neatly in a turban
This way the hair becomes a force instead of a burden
I tie the holy hair on the top of my head in a bun
Thus , the power multiplies and each hair becomes a tongue.
With these multiple tongues I recite his name with each breath
This is how Im given life instead of death.
The recitation through every pore of my body
becomes my lifeword and favorite hobby
My Guru says with love recite the holy Name

on my last breath I will enter my Gurus land.
