One day I randomly scrolled through Bible and was stuck on the following quote from Chronicles:
“The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you”. (Chronicles 15:2)Contrast this with the teachings of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee:
ਜੇ ਤੈ ਰਬੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਤ ਰਬਿ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਿਓਹਿ ॥੧੦੭॥If you forsake Rabb (God), Rabb will not forsake you.Bible is saying that if you forsake God, he will in return forsake you but Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee states that if you forsake Rabb, he will not forsake you.
Sikhi offers so much hope. So merciful Vaheguru is that it cannot be measured. Of course God does not forsake us. How can he. We are his children. Gurbani says it clearly that no matter how bad the son is, mother still does not lessen her love:
ਸੁਤੁ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੇ ॥ ਜਨਨੀ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਰਾਖਸਿ ਤੇਤੇ ॥੧॥Kulbir Singh
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਬਚਨਕਮਾਵਣੇਸਚਾਏਹੁਵੀਚਾਰੁ॥
